It's the whole 'marry another pureblood so that real wizards can live on' thing. Marrying someone as a duty not because of true feelings. He probably admires her power and skill but if he ran into her on the street he'd more than likely run away and never look back

I've always thought that Rodolphus had loved Bellatrix while she was rather indifferent about him. I have never though Bellatrix loved him at all though.

I do believe Rodolphus loved Bellatrix, or at least liked her most out of three sisters. Frankly, the Lestrange brothers were neglected in the books, and even more in the movies (some of my friends who didn't read the book but only saw movies thought that Bellatrix has no husband at all, and a few of these who read the book don't remember Rabastan), so we can't really KNOW their feelings. Fanfiction writers do their best to cover this loophole, and I support "loving and caring Rodolphus, master of Cruciatus Curse".

He maybe cared for her,and respected her but he didn't love her.

he might have liked her at one point but most likely just admired her but none of us will ever really be sure if he did or not

i don't know-it's never mentioned but she can take care of her self!

I think he loved her when they were in school, but when they joined the Beath Eathers, Bella started to change and that destroyed them.

I mean,how could he not? She's freaking amazing!
