famfan Wow, I never thought of that. What Kbrand says has a lot of merit, does he Arthur know Mordred has magic? I can't believe that Merlin is going to let Mordred become a knight. Merlin knows this guy is Arthur's doom. Hell Mordred know that he (Merlin) has magic, Maybe he is going to blackmail Merlin using this knowledge some how, thought it's still not a good reason not to tell Arthur about his having magic. I don't know, Merlin is probably just afraid of loosing. Lord, we are going to have another Agravain season.....

kbrand5333 That's what makes me nervous: Mordred knows Merlin's secret. But IF Arthur doesn't know about Mordred's magic, that could be the thing that keeps them each silent about the other. If Mordred exposes Merlin, Merlin will expose him right back. I'm very curious to see how they handle the telepathic connection thing, too. It also worries me VERY MUCH that Mordred knows about Merlin if Mordred is in league with Morgana. What would stop him from telling her that Merlin is Emrys?? I don't think it'll be another Agravaine season. I think (hope) it will be much more complex than that. Alex has even said in interviews that Mordred is conflicted.

EPaws From your mouths to God's ear. One salient point brought out above though Mordred knows of Merlin's magic he has no idea he is the Emrys. Now perhaps I am not remembering correctly on that one, so feel free to correct me.

MISAforever They are definitely making Mordred complex and interesting and for now I'm quite satisfied. The hole is nothing new, but before I make an opinion I'll just wait and see what new episodes bring. I think he does know and he's called him Emyrs. I THINK.

Bonne-Bell Yes, even in the trailer for 5x02, Mordred refers to him as Emrys when they're communicating telepathetically. I also thought that the reason why Uther was dead set on killing Mordred was because he wasn't just a druid but because he knew that he had magic. Arthur might not know for sure but it shouldn't come as a surprise to him that Mordred has magic. We'll just wait and see on that. But I think even if Arthur did know that Mordred had magic it wouldn't be such a huge plot hole for Merlin not revealing his magic because Merlin has been lying about his magic for so long that right now, it's an issue of betrayal not just Arthur not accepting people with magic. I think that Arthur thinking that everyone that he loves has betrayed him and not wanting to be included in that list would be enough to keep Merlin from hidding his magic.
