Why are people so obsessed with the sexuality of actors? As well as wanting to know every tiny detail of their lives?

Honestly, I have never understood this disturbing obsession with things that are really nobody's business. That's all I ever see on message boards/forums: is he/she gay? How many kids does xxxxxxxx have? What brand toothpaste does xxxxxxxxx use? Maybe I'm the weirdo but all I'm interested in is whether they are good actors who can engage and entertain me. If I researched every single aspect of an actor's life who I like I can guarantee that the actor would no longer engage me with their performances as I would be too distracted oleh " Oh, he's had so many women " atau " Damn, I can't believe he's gay. I really think he's hot ".
