Do anda prefer the original fairytale atau disney version?

I just thought I'd put the pertanyaan out there. For my two cents, I would have to say that I prefer the original story. Mainly because I have a soft spot for Hans Christian Anderson but also because the ending is not so sickly sweet; the mermaid's actions do actually have real, severe and irreversible consequences which I appreciate. Not to mention the fact that the mermaid doesn't get her man which is a refreshing change. atau maybe I'm just a dark soul who revels in unhappy endings :-)

I prefer the disney version. Don't get me wrong, Hans Cristian Andersen is one of my heroes, and I cinta tragedies. But I think that the original fairytale depicts the mermaid as selfish. her sisters GIVE THEIR HANDS and HAIR to the sea witch to get her out of this, and she still can't bring herself to do it.

La version de disney parce que je la connais depuis que je suis enfant, ça m'a suivi toute ma vie dans mon imaginaire. Et aussi, ce que je n'aime pas de la version originale de Andersen (Den Lille Havfrue) en danois, est plutôt tragique, ce qui n'est pas le cas de la version TLM de Disney! :) également, la belle princesse aux cheveux rouges est un emblème du personnage alors je ne peux m'empêcher de la préférer a celle du conte d'Anderson.
