Can someone please tell me how anda make your own icons?

I've been trying to do ANYTHING on paint, but it is always either messed up atau it didn't work. Can someone please help me?

anda might want to try a better graphic program. Paint.net and GIMP are both free to download and very good. They both take a bit to learn though. Picnik.com is also good and it's all online.
