"Move over, Katniss. Tris is selanjutnya in line."

I don't remember who berkata this, but it was a Divergent critic that was quoted at the beginning of the book. I don't particularly appreciate the komentar because it's encouraging rivalry atau competition between the two series. Possibly komentar like this one could have been one of the reasons why some Hunger Games fan "don't like Divergent," because they still like the Hunger Games. They don't want another book to take its place. But why do the two series have to be rivals? Does Katniss really need to "move over" for Tris to have her chance? Can't they be friends instead?

They probably would be friends if they met, but them meeting would be impossible. The characters- and their worlds- cannot possibly coexist. This could be another reason why there is some rivalry between the series- because the world of each series undermines the possible existence of the other. However, the rivalry seems to mostly have to do with similarities rather than differences- they're both set in a dystopian future America, they both have strong female leads, they both involve fighting and wars, and others. What really annoys me is that...

Anyone else sincerely interested in creating a small-scale Candor community? atau even multi-faction communities.

I know it didn't work for them, and I'm not a crazy super fan atau anything, but after watching & membaca the Divergent series I couldn't help but start seriously imagining how to create a real-world version. All the things I'd do differently and the things I'd keep the same.

If anda think about it, it's just like creating an Intentional Community and there's plenty of those succeeding around the world. I think if the right people with the right vision got together, we could make it happen!

Who's with me?!

I know this is late. I wanted to post this the hari the trailer came out, but my birthday was on Saturday so I was busy all weekend. And I've been busy with school finals this week. Now it's Friday so I can finally do this thing!

On to the Review!

*Slight disclaimer, I have read the trilogy, but I have not seen the first movie. So excuse me if some of my komentar are irrelevant. Also this will be full of sassiness and sarcasm haha so don't take everything I write too seriously ;)*

Trailer Time: 0:02

THE BOX. What the frick frack diddly dack is this? So this really confused me and angered me...this could completely turn the plot upside down. Which could be a good thing...but could also be a bad thing.

"We found it, the future our people deserve". Was this some sort of ancient box that was created when the factions were atau something? It makes it seem like Jeannine has good intentions with hunting down divergents.

We are all entitled to our own opinions so here is mine if anda agree with me great. If anda don't that's not my problem. Just if anda komentar and anda don't agree don't be mean. I have seen really mean komentar on here and it's a shame.

Alright here we go:

First of all the hunger games are fimed and they are aired on television. Divergent is not filmed atau aired on television.

selanjutnya technically the hunger games only its suppose to have ONE winner... They have let Katniss slide so much it's a bit sad that she loses everyone she cases about at the end of the story. Divergent is not necessarily a one winner battle is ends with 10 people winning. The ones that are left over are just homeless not dead. Also in different it is up to the individual child as to I'd they leave there family unit atau not. Tris, Caleb, Tobias they left but it was there choice.

Lastly in the hunger games children are absolutely murdered. In divergent anda can commit suicide like Al did but in divergent anda don't get killed the whole point is working very hard to become a member even if that is anda are the 10th person on the list.

O. M. G. Is it just me, atau are Divergent and Hunger games, EXACTLY THE SAME!!!!! Both have problems involving some form of government, and both have wicked government persons. (btw beware this artikel will have some foul words.) Both Divergent and HG have badass characters and hot lead guy characters, (four and peeta and gale). Both states, atau worlds, are divided in some form of colonies.WTF. Have anda also noticed both have iconic symbols, the mockingjay pin, and Tris's bats?!?!?! Started to get what im saying??? Both have some kind of war wtch kills like tons of people. Each colony (wtch I mentioned earlier) have a symbol, and a different job. And I think this is so creepy, both main female parts (Tris and Katniess) LOOK EXACTLY FREAKING SAME!!! Same with four and Gale, who both also look kinda the same. Also there are differences to. Like Katniess didn't have a brother, but her father was killed. And Tris doesn't have a sister. But both have siblings. How does this happen, I don't know. And please don't be all pissy and bitching at me because im dishing both movies, because generally, I cinta both movies. This was just brought to my attention oleh one of my very close friends, so I...

{This is just my opinion. I am sorry if I offend anyone. Also, there might be some cursing here, so do not read if anda dislike cursing.}
{MAJOR Spoilers! Please do not read if anda have not read Allegiant atau do not want spoilers!}

Allegiant. I honestly do not know where to start on this book. Might as well start from the very beginning.
A tired me was looking for something to read in the book store. I found the Divergent Box Set, and since my friends had constantly been chatting about how it's the 'new Hunger Games', I decided to give it a try. Divergent was the first book, I loved it. It was well-written, clean, and interesting enough to continue reading. It had meaning, good meaning. Secondly came Insurgent. It was not as good as Divergent, but it passed as a book nonetheless. It is also the book where my favourite character (Cara) got introduced properly (We see her in Divergent briefly, but I don't count that as a proper introduction). It was an alright book overall. Then came Allegiant. It is still sitting on my shelf, waiting to be re-read (And I hope I never have to re-read it).

There is a lot going around that Divergent is a rip off of The Hunger Games. I don't agree. I like them both equally but I don't see them being the same. there are notable differences between the two.

Let's start with the obvious:

The kids in Divergent aren't fighting in a game of life atau death on television.

Yes, they both take place in dystopian worlds but their dystopian worlds are different than eachother. in Katniss's it's poverty, with Tris, she has it a little better than Katniss.

But really, I don't like them being compared to eachother. it was the same with Harry potter and Twilight and look how that turned out.

Bookish: How did anda decide on a YA novel adaptation for your selanjutnya project?
Evan Daugherty: I was looking at a lot of things – a lot of comic books–and membaca a lot of books, and in the process of that…I read five of these YA books. I read “Pure” oleh Julianna Baggott, “Legend” [by Marie Lu], “Delirium” [by Lauren Oliver] and “This Dark Endeavor” [by Kenneth Oppel]–it’s kind of a cool, young adult version of the “Frankenstein” story.
Bookish: So anda obviously read some populer stuff being shopped around–why did anda choose to adapt ”Divergent?”
ED: It’s a mutual thing of feeling out whether your take on a piece of material meshes with what the studio wants to do. The things that drew me to ”Divergent” were the specifics of Tris’ character. She starts off in that incredibly sheltered, selfless, peaceful world and then basically she decides to gabung the equivalent of the Navy Seals. That’s a big character arc, it’s fun to track that. And “Divergent” differentiates itself oleh being in the vein of some film that I really like, sort of the military training movie–like “Top Gun” atau a...

Teen Read Week was October 14th through 20th, but here at The Hub, we’re celebrating for ten days so we can bring anda interviews, guest posts, videos, and lebih with each of the authors whose buku made this year’s Teens’ puncak, atas Ten. Today we feature Veronica Roth, whose book Divergent is #1 on this year’s list.

Divergent is a book about bravery, self-determination, friendship, family, loyalty, and making choices. It is a book that positively captivated (not just) teen readers across the nation, myself included. When diberikan the opportunity, I jumped at the chance to ask Veronica Roth a few pertanyaan of my own. Here’s the interview:

If some of the disney Princesses were to gabung factions from Tris’s world, in which factions do anda think they might land?

I think most of the older ones would be Amity atau Abnegation (Cinderella, hello), but obviously Belle, with her passion for books, is Erudite; melati is Candor; and if mulan counts as a “Disney princess” (I mean, she’s not a princess, but she’s my favorit disney heroine, so I’m going to talk about her anyway), she would be Divergent the same way Tris is: Dauntless,...

For those of anda who have not ever entered a giveaway on Bibliopunkk it's simple... I'm thinking of a number between 1 and 5,000. Leave your number guess in the komentar with an email so I can contact the winner later (the email is necessary to enter, folks). First person to guess the correct number wins. I'll repeat - if two people suggest the same number only the first person to guess it gets the book. I will close this contest on April 6th, 2012. This contest is International.
