The 10 OFFICIAL Disney Princesses

Alot of people debat over this, so I thought I'd be the one to address it. Who's royalty atau who's not royalty really doesn't matter to me but I'm just going to tell anda guys who's techinically a princess and who isn't . I will address the royal status of each in acak order.

Mulan
First of all, mulan is not a princess in anyway, we all know this. But anda could say she's royalty as she was diberikan the crest of the Emperor. Not to mention all of China bowing down to her. So while mulan isn't royalty, she's certainly not a commoner.

Belle
Technically, she isn't a princess either. Belle obviously wasn't born royalty and she never actually marries The Beast, though it's pretty aman, brankas to assume she eventually would have. But even then, what exactly is the Beast prince OF? I'm starting to think he's just some rich kid who got his own castle.

Cinderella and Tiana
I'm decided to talk about these two simultaneously since they both have the exact same status. Both of them married into royalty, so they are princesses. But one could debat they're not truly princesses because they don't have royal blood.

Snow White
Yes, I know Snow White was born a princess but here's the thing. Near the end of the movie, the Evil Queen, while still in disguise, dies a very brutal death. So Snow White has her happy ending but what about her kingdom? Isn't she heir to the throne. Techinically Snow White isn't a princess, she's actually a queen. She also marries into royalty but I don't think I need to repeat myself.

Pocahontas
Yes, I do consider Pocahontas a princess. She's a chief's daughter which is basically the Native American equivalent. I know that the Powhatan tribe isn't a monarchy but she has to deal with the same sort of stuff as a princess does, like arranged marriage. And the real life person was treated like a princess when she came to Europe.

Ariel
I think Pocahontas is a princess just as much as Ariel and Jasmine. Ariel was born royalty but there are some technicalities. Her father, King Triton is clearly lebih of a God than a King. I don't know Mythology atau the original story but I bet they just made Triton a king to make the story lebih fairytale-ish. So with that said, if Ariel's a princess then Hercules is a prince and I know people don't agree with that.

Jasmine
Pretty much the same as Ariel. If your defintion of princess is being the daughter of a king atau queen then melati is not a princess in your book. Her father is a Sultan, which is lebih atau less the same thing as a king. They're both ruling monarchs. I agree Jasmine's a princess but once anda address ALL the techinicalities and ALL the debatable facts. The only legit princesses are....

Aurora and Rapunzel
These two are the only undebatable and undeniable princesses. Both of them are of royal blood and their parents are kings and queens. Yeah, the two princesses who grew up unaware of their royal status are the only legitimate princesses through and through. anda could argue all hari about the other princesses but anda cannot deny Rapunzel and Aurora's royal status.

But anda know what, I cinta all the princesses and I am very happy with the line-up. People need to stop getting so worked up about who's a princess and who's royalty. They are all part of the line-up according to Disney. Cinderella, Belle, Ariel, Mulan, Tiana, Snow White, Jasmine, Pocahontas, Aurora and Rapunzel are the OFFICIAL disney Princesses, end of discussion.

Jessikaroo Nice! I like ho you covered all of the princesses, instead of just one. :D And I agree about Pocahontas, even thought her tribe was a democracy. It's even shown in the sequel, the King calls her "Princess Pocahontas." And I love how you noticed the problems with BatB. What is Beast prince of? The forest? He was said to have only disappeared for 10 years, not long enough for France to forget him. I also wonder what happened to Snow's kingdom after she rode off... Maybe she had siblings or step siblings we didn't see?

PrincessAyeka12 I agree with starlight77 with "I don't get some of your article though." I don't understand how you cannot think that Jasmine is a legit princess. Care to explain?

JNTA1234 I'm trying get all the aguements out there, like when people Hercules isn't a prince because he's the son of a God not a king, if that's the case then Jasmine isn't a princess because her father's a Sultan, not a king. Don't get me wrong, I consider Jasmine a princess

PrincessAyeka12 On Triton, you're right. He is a greek god with a trident by mythology in the form of a merman. In the original story, he doesn't have a name. He's just simply known as The Sea King. I guess Disney thought "Hmmm, what are we going to call the sea king? Lets do some research...Aha! Triton, no...King Triton! That's what we'll call him and we'll borrow the greek myth, no one will notice." Needless to say, I knew very little about the real Pocahontas and Triton the greek god until recently when I decided to read about them. Same with actual meanings behind Arabic royal titles featured in Disney. Sultan is the Arabic word for "rulership", "strength", "dictatorship", "king". And this is confirmed by Jasmine fan - Arsalanistan.

milky-way I've never thought much about Snow White and the Queen before. I wonder how the Queen became Queen in the first place. Obviously she married Snow White's father, but I would have thought the throne would have passed onto Snow White once he died/whatever happened to him. Unless Snow White was too young at the time? And it's interesting that Snow White left a kingdom without any rule... I wonder what happened to it. I never noticed that before. Anyway, great article!

IsaacKuo Real life succession is messy and flexible. Basically, he who wins gets to make up the rules. That's the great thing about being king/queen/dictator--you get to decide what is "legal" and what isn't. Leaving a kingdom without a ruler isn't necessarily such a big deal. Someone will always "volunteer" to fill in a power vacuum.
