Before I go into the topic, I have to address one point: The newly added scenes in Beauty and the Beast and Pocahontas. I’ll ignore both of them, since they weren’t in the original release. Believe me, it will work in favor of the film in both cases. Also, mulan is not in this daftar – Since there is no cinta song in that movie.
9: Princess and the Frog: I honestly considered that having no cinta song at all might be better than utilizing one so frightfully bad. Whoever thought that it would be a good idea to combine the wistful tune of Ma Belle Evangeline with two dancing frogs must have been drunk. In fact, combining a song about the longing for cinta with a couple who isn’t really in cinta yet is a very odd choice. The melody itself is a nice tune, but used this way it’s a fail. That Naveen and Tiana argue at the beginning of the song doesn’t help either.
Fanpop says: This one got voted as detik worst and got not even one vote for the best. “It's a boring song and also forgettable.” (VGfan30)
8. The Little Mermaid: Don’t get me wrong, I cinta “Kiss the Girl” but I don’t think it’s particular romantic, take away the sea and the boat, and the lights and the result reminds me a little bit of cheerleading – Go, go, ciuman the girl! Plus, there is actually a continuity error in it: Sebastian sings that Ariel will get her voice back when Eric kisses her, but that’s not the content of the contract. She gave away her voice as payment, there was nothing about her getting it back if she gets kissed during the three days.
Fanpop says: Not much. The song stayed somewhere in the middle in both votes.
7. Cinderella: I’m already at a stage at which it’s difficult to decide. “So this is Love” gets such a low placement because it does selanjutnya to nothing to advance the plot. Yes, cinderella loves the prince, and he loves her, cinta feels like heaven and it’s a very romantic scene – can we pindah on now?
Fanpop says: Not one best vote and a lot of worst votes. “I find this and Ma Belle Evangeline very forgettable.” (Milky-way). That was lebih atau less the tenor of most of the comments.
6. Beauty and the Beast: It was really hard to decide where I should place this one. I finally settled on this place, because I think that the other songs are just a little bit better. I originally considered judging “Something there” in this category, but decided later on that it would fit elsewhere better. Nevertheless, I took into account that there already is a song about Belle and the Beast falling in love, which makes “Beauty and the Beast” a little bit unnecessary. But it’s not just about two people being in love, it’s kind of a Meta about disney film and fairy tales. It happened before, it will happen again, and it might happen in real life too. It’s difficult not to get sucked into this. It’s not on place six because I think it’s bad. The following are simply better.
Fanpop says: Another one which flew mostly under the radar.
5. Aladdin: I know this is one of the lebih populer songs. It’s an award winning song. The carpet ride scene is easily the most iconic in this movie. musik and animasi are in perfect sync during “A whole new world”. The way the musik is descending and ascending to the carpet ride is perfect. So why is it so low on the list? Well, I think that other songs are lebih meaningful. It’s nice that aladdin is ready to give melati whatever she wants, to travel the world with her, but it’s also somewhat shallow compared to the deep feelings some other songs convey. It also does little to advance the plot – yes, melati softens up to “Prince Ali” enough to actually talk to him, but the really important scene happens when they rest on a rooftop and she tricks him into revealing that they met before. I consider this song the best between those who actually made it into the movie, but in the category “Love Songs” it gets narrowly beaten oleh some of the others.
Fanpop says: I fear some people are now sharpening their tongues, because it got voted as the best. On the other hand, it was also voted forth worst, so perhaps I might survive the tongue lashing. *hides*
4. Snow White: “One Song” is one of the few cinta songs on this daftar which has a reprise (although berkata reprise is part of “Love’s first kiss”). And while this is not really one of the lebih populer songs, I think it deserves this spot for the way it gets utilized during the movie. The first time it’s at the beginning, when the prince woes Snow White. The detik time is when he finds her presumably dead body. Both times he expresses his deep cinta for her, and only for her. It’s romantic the first time around, jantung breaking the detik time. And while most of the other songs I mentioned before have a “let’s take a break from the actual plot and just enjoy the musik and the animation”-feel to it, this one doesn’t slow down the movie at all. It is nothing lebih and nothing less than the Prince’s confession of love, short and to the point.
Fanpop says: Yes, I really put the song which got voted as the worst on fourth place. There were a lot of komentar on it being boring. “I like them all but this melody is so monotonous.” (fiina)
3. Tangled: Now, this is a song which really tells a story and is romantic nevertheless. The best part of “I see the light” is that both characters are in perfect balance. It tells the story of two people, who discover something about themselves. Rapuzel realizes that she allowed herself to get ruled oleh fear. Eugene realizes that in becoming Flynn Rider he lived a lie and that’s he want to get liked as Eugene. They have changed each other, but not in changing their personalities, but in giving each other strength and help them to overcome their own inner demons. When they gabung each other in the refrain they understand each other, and the voices blend into each other in perfect sync.
Fanpop says: This stuck in the middle, but it has some fans. “It just so beautiful and i cant believe that Zachary's and Mandy's can fit in each other that perfectly “(sheep2901)
2. Pocahontas: Every other movie would have gotten downgraded considerably for having the cinta song only in the end credits, especially since I’m normally not a big fan of the pop-versions they tend to use there. And truthfully, before I took a good look at those songs, I hadn’t really considered this one. But “If I never knew you” has easily the most meaningful message from all those songs. It’s not about being in love, atau falling in love, atau promises, it’s about the meaning of love. It says “Whatever will happen, meeting anda has changed my life, and I don’t rue one detik we spend together”. And for this movie, the placement is perfect. We hear the tune of the song when Pocahontas visits the imprisoned John Smith, and he encourages her although he thinks that he will die the very selanjutnya day. Playing it in the end credits after Pocahontas and John Smith had to say good-bye to each other, is a very good reminder of this scene, and makes a bittersweet ending. For the same reason I’m not a fan of the newly added scene – this is one of the cases in which understatement works much better.
Fanpop says: I’m finally back in the trend. Third place for this one, and it got mentioned a couple of times as runner up.
1. Sleeping Beauty: I had a really hard time to decide between “Once upon a dream” and “If I never knew you”. The latter is, on the first hearing, lebih meaningful, so I put it on spot one first. But then I heard “Once upon a dream again” and suddenly realized, how true the text is. It acknowledges that reality sometimes can’t hold a candle to dreams, but Aurora and Philip simply don’t care, in this one moment they forget all their doubts. And isn’t this was cinta really is about? Forgetting the ifs and whens and taking a leap of faith? There are no guarantees in love, after all.
Another plus is the way the same text becomes a different meaning during this scene. First we have Aurora, who sings about her desire to meet the man of her dreams. And then we have Philip, who uses nearly the same words to convince her that he is berkata man and that she is the woman of his dreams.
And I admit it also helps that this scene and the ball scene at the end of the movie are easily between the best disney ever animated. Yes, the scene with Belle and the Beast in the ballroom is memorable, too, but this one came first and is hand drawn. It’s such an impressive piece of animation.
Fanpop says: The only komentar was a negative one: “I like it but they sing it many times and it's too repetitive for that.” (JosefS_girl24). But it also got voted as the detik best.
