Humphrey, Kate and the pups were running up the snowy mountains. The same snowy mountains that Humphrey and Kate had trekked before.
Behind them, Stinky and Claudette were playing in the cold white powder. They were having a good, fun time unlike Runt who continued to stick close to his mother and father. Stinky noticed this throughout the hari even as he right now was occupied with his sister. He called out to his little brother, "Runt! anda wanna play?"
Runt paid no mind to his older sibling. Humphrey watched down at him, Kate doing the same.
"Go on, Runt. We're making good time. anda can go play if anda want." Kate berkata sweetly.
The small Omega shook his head negatively and brushed Kate's leg as they walked. Kate looked down at him with a worried look across her face. She had never seen Runt like this before.
She called out to her other two pups. "Claudette! Stinky! Come on, we need to keep moving!"
The two small Alphas ceased their playing and ran towards their mother and father. Kate then added, "You two follow your father. Runt and I will catch up in a minute."
"Is everything alright?" Claudette asked.
Kate nodded. "Go on. We're fine. Just going to have a little talk."
Claudette turned away to go after Stinky and Humphrey. Kate watched them go as she sat in the snow oleh Runt. The cold breeze wafted through her head bulu and down her back. Runt looked upward at her, then he sat down on his rear oleh her.
"Runt... I'm sorry the holidays didn't go quite as planned like we wanted to. I'm very sorry." Kate berkata to her pup with her head down.
Runt finally spoke up for the first time since he had woken up that morning. "But, Mom... It wasn't your fault. Nobody could've predicted what happened the other day."
"No... I should've sent another Alpha to look after anda and your brother and sister. The hari was just so busy with all the makan malam preparations, I didn't think about the consequences of anda three being out there alone. If I had, anda never would've been taken from us." Kate looked down at the snow and quietly sobbed. "I cinta anda guys so much. If I lost any of you..." She halted her words and tears began to slide from her tear ducts and soak into her fur.
Runt stared at her and placed his small paw against her large paw. He then told Kate, "You'll never lose us, Mom."
Kate's eyes opened slowly and she saw her son nuzzling her leg gently. She smiled, then proceeded to nuzzle Runt. "You have matured so much in such a short time." Kate then laughed softly. "Just like your father."
As they both stood up to catch up with the others, Stinky began to sniff. When Stinky's nose was at work, that normally only meant two things: He smelled food atau he smelled trouble.
Humphrey noticed. "Stinky, what do anda got?" Humphrey asked.
A loud bellowing from the edge of the forest answered his question. Stinky called out, "Moose!"
Immediately, a large banteng moose burst from the forest and cornered them. His front hooves kicked the snow furiously and the steam of winter air exhaled from his nostrils.
Humphrey stared down between the banteng moose's legs and saw a young betis cowering from behind the trees. He then looked back up at the moose and gulped, just hoping that Kate was on her way.
