Becca walked into the mountain to everyone's surprise. Artemis ran to her, giving her a big hug.
“Becca! We haven't seen anda in months! How are anda holding up?”
“I'm fine.”
“You sure? After everything Willow told us, anda seemed really shaken.”
“I was but I'm over that now.”
“Okay. What are anda doing here?”
“I have somethings to give to Robin. Is he here?”
“In his room.”
“Thanks.”
Becca made her way down the hall, box in hand. She stopped at his door and opened it. A blush hit her face and tears rushed to her eyes when Sam and Robin pulled away at her entrance.
“Becca!”
“I-I'm sorry! I was returning things. I didn't mean to-”
“It's okay. Come in.”
Becca came in, feeling uncomfortable. She set the box down on the desk, looking around Robin's room. Her eyes landed on a foto oleh his bed. She picked it up, caressing it softly.
“I didn't know anda still had this,” she whispered reverently.
Robin looked over her shoulder, looking at the picture. It was one he'd taken a long time ago. One of Becca. She was smiling brightly, her eyes alight with laughter.
“Yeah. I found it a few weeks yang lalu and put it in there. I thought it needed a special place.”
“Number ten.”
“Huh?”
“That was tanggal number ten.”
“Yeah. When I took anda on your first tour of Gotham Academy. anda wanted to see it so badly that I gave anda the grand tour.”
“And then we went to the pantai here. We walked down the shoreline.”
“And I took your picture.”
Becca smiled. It was a small thing, but it meant a lot. He remembered that day. He remembered the photo. That meant something. Right? Becca put the picture down. She looked back at Robin and motioned towards the box.
“There's some of the things I never returned.”
“Okay. Thanks for giving them back. Bye!”
“Sam!”
“We were in the middle of something!”
“I know but-”
“It's okay Robin. Sam's right. I-I should go. There's nothing here for me anyway.”
Becca covered her mouth, knowing she had just revealed a piece of her broken heart. She turned and ran out of the room. Robin ran after her.
“Becca! Wait!”
berkata warrior ran through the base and outside, Robin hot on her heels. When she was outside, she stumbled. Robin caught hold of her arm before she fell. Becca regained her composure and tried to jerk her arm free. But Robin was determined to talk to her.
“Becca...”
“Please let me go,” she whispered.
“Are anda afraid I'm going to hurt you?”
“No. I'm afraid of what I'll do if anda don't remove your hand.”
“Is that a threat?”
“No. I'm saying remove your hand before I tampil anda what I missed most when we broke up.”
Robin studied her profile.
“Take off the sunglasses.”
“No Robin.”
“Take them off and I'll remove my hand.”
Becca looked at him and removed her glasses. Robin's hand went limp as he stared, shocked, into her face. Her eyes were bloodshot and red from crying. The bags sagged under her eyes, telling him she had barely slept. The skin underneath was a sickly pale. But the thing that drew his attention was how steady her gaze was, even as he studied her.
“Becca...”
“You don't have to say anything. I know I look horrible.”
“No. anda look beautiful. Like always.”
“Thanks. But don't toy with me.”
“I'm being honest, Becca. anda look lovely.”
“As do you.”
Robin studied her. He noticed several things and it hurt him. He felt like he had caused these changes and in a way he had.
“Please stop,” Becca whispered.
“Stop what?”
“Staring at me.”
“Sorry. You've lost weight.”
“I haven't eaten much.”
“Becca...how much did I hurt you?”
“Not a lot.”
“Honesty Becca.”
“No.”
“Why not?”
“Because then you'd feel sorry and want to get back together just because I hurt. But I'd never be able to live like that, knowing anda don't cinta me.”
“I promise. Nothing like that will happen. Tell me how anda felt.”
“When anda first told me?”
“Yes.”
“Like anda had stabbed me with Dark Magic.”
“And now?”
“Like you've ripped my jantung out, torn it into a million pieces, and stepped all over it. Then did it all over again until I'm bleeding through my eyes.”
“You're very blunt.”
“You should have known. I haven't changed. I never did. Sure, I became stronger. Sure, I trusted people. Sure, I was willing to give my life several times. But I never changed, Robin.”
“Then what happened?”
“You changed.”
