When third person becomes a problem...

This is weird for me but I'm in a bit of a grammatical twist, and it's summer so I can't exactly bother my English teacher.

Can anda use the word "here" when menulis in third person in reference to a place that a character is currently at?

E.g. The restaurant was decorated in berwarna merah muda, merah muda and blue. All tables rose high above the ground. Erica had never been here/there before.

In that situation, should I use here atau there?
