Hi :- ) how come there are 13 buku but only 26 episodes?

Hello there :) anda see, it kinda bugs me that there are 13 book, and only 26 episodes. If we take an example as shugo chara, there are 12 buku and 102 (101?) episodes. Isn't this a little wierd?
