I'm well aware that many fan believe that Scrooge and Goldie had sex in the Don Rosa story Prisoner of White Agony Creek. I also know that they like to believe this because they feel as though it makes Scrooge and Goldie's relationship have a lebih romantic feel. And I know that many of these fan think they have actual proof, beyond and shadow of a doubt that they 'made love'. Well guess what, I not one of those fans.


I'm sure you're all wondering why, unlike many fan I choose not to believe they 'made love'. Well, there are actually several reasons that I choose not to believe they did. Not the least of those reasons is, that one the main reasons I read disney comics and watch disney kartun is because they're clean. disney is one of the few places where I feel like I can really escape from the "dirtiness" (for lack of a better word) of the adult world, so bringing sex into it really ruins it for me.

Another reason I don't believe they had sex is, because I read the story several times, and didn't pick up on the possible "implied sex scene" until someone mentioned it on a forum. And even after going back and rereading it, I still have a hard time seeing an "implied sex scene". So in my opinion anda really have to stretch that scene to turn it into one.

For another thing when I think of them having sex, I don't think romance. Honestly all I can I think of is my favorit disney hero committing sexual immoralities, and I can't say I'm too fond of that idea. In fact that probably bothers me even lebih then bringing sex into the disney universe.

fan who like to believe they had an affair take Donald telling the boys that they're too young to know what happened as a hint. My pertanyaan to them is, how would Donald know about his uncle's sex life? I mean this is Rosa's Scrooge who only talks about money and treasure, why would he tell his nephew (who he's not that close to) about an affair he had as a young man?

Anyway, I always saw it as him saying that they were too young know about the violence that happened at White Agony Creek. atau possible him knowing that Goldie was a touchy subject for Scrooge and using 'you're too young to know' as an excuse to make them shut up and leave. Those certainly make lebih sense to me than Donald somehow .knowing about a cinta affair Scrooge had when he was young.

Now I'm sure most of anda know about THE scene, and for those of anda who don't I diposting some pictures of it. Anyway fan who like to believe they had sex, seem to think they fight somehow evolved into "hate sex" (their words not mine). Again my pertanyaan is how? And they interpret the judge saying "...what's going on in that kabin is not guilty of a hangin' offense in Langstry Texas -or anywhere else" as actually proof that they had sex.

They also seem to see the fact that he kicks her out the morning after the "incident" and that he behaves in shy way while doing it as further proof. And some I've even heard some say that the reason he paid he was either to keep her quiet about the 'incident' atau to pay her for her prostitute services.

I personally always saw THE scene as, them either just making up after the fight and the judge seeing them shaking hands and cleaning up their mess then saying," ...what's going on in that kabin is not guilty of a hangin' offense in Langstry Texas -or anywhere else." atau them wearing themselves out fighting and going to sleep on floor, and the judge seeing them asleep and thinking everything is fine. But those possibilities make lebih sense to me than a character as moral as Scrooge having sex with some girl.


And as far as when he kicks her out, I always thought he kicked her out simply because he didn't want any distractions from his mining. anda can tell that all through the story he's becoming attracted to her and often behaves in a shy way around her, but just doesn't want to admit it, So I always thought he finally came to the realization he liked her and that she would be a distraction to him so he kicked her out. It could also be he was afraid that something sexual would happen if he let her stay, because of their growing attration. But again, knowing what I do about Scrooge is far too moral, in my opinion, to just have sex with a girl. And as far as him paying her, he had already agreed to pay her for helping him mine gold.

And yes I know there's an 'off colored' joke in that story. But a mild sexual joke doesn't prove that characters had sex. And remember, while it maybe in poor taste, it's not the only disney comic atau movie with mild adult humor in it.



I know that this is a little off topic but I would also like mention that many fan see Dickie Duck, Goldie's granddaughter as further proof that they had sex. Many fan who like to believe they had an affair, like to think, Dickie also Scrooge's grandchild because she addresses him as Grandfather. And they also believe that the reason none of her comics have printed in the United States is because of moral reasons.

I don't know a lot about her, since her comics have never been printed in my country. But from what I've read her reasons for calling him Grandfather, were lebih of a joke than anything. It could be also cultural thing, since in Italy Dickie's country of origin, it's not at all uncommon to call elderly men grandfather out of respect. atau it could possibly be any honorary title. Anyway those make lebih sense to me then disney allowing one of their heroes, in a children's comic, to have an illegitimate child. And as far as her comics not being printed in the U.S., there very few foreign comics printed in the United States. So in conclusion I guess what I'm trying to say is there's just as much proof that didn't sex, as that they did. And in my world they didn't, and yes in my world Scrooge is still a virgin.
