I remember visiting this website once...
It was called The Vamps perform 'Wake Up' in EW's basement series | EW.com
Here's some stuff I remembered seeing:
British pop quartet The Vamp joined EW for our latest Basement Series video, and performed a stripped down version of their single “Wake Up.”
“The sound for this second record has been huge for us,” singer Bradley Simpson tells EW. “It’s a very different sound.” Guitarist/singer James McVey attributes it to a switch in sonic inspiration: “We’d been listening to sounds from the ’80s,” he says. “And trying to put that in our new sound.”
It doesn’t take more than a few bars of the single to see what they’re saying. “Wake Up” has an enormous, stomping hook, and an infectious pop-rock percussion line. But what’s more obvious? Just how much fun these four are having. Check their session out below.
The Vamps, which also features bassist Connor Ball and drummer Tristan Evans, released their sophomore collection,
, last Friday. They will spend most of 2016 on the road, a full list of dates is available on their website.
