How come anything stops Gumball from ciuman Penny?

ive noticed in any episode ive seen where gumball gets close to ciuman penny,something always stops him.

true, what usually stops them from ciuman is that they are both in will of keeping the suspense of the cinta in tact and they are too afraid to express their cinta for eachother.
