Her mother was still on holiday while Effy came halaman awal from italy before her, and her mother/father broke up and Tony is at college leaving her alone.

effy had a mental disease. it was already foreshadowed in the other episodes and maybe being happy didn't work out for her...like she couldn't allow herself to be too happy?
