Well, if you read the prologue above the "with their death bury their parents' strife" and the "Which, but their children's end, nought could remove" parts say that the feud is over...

In the version I read, it says at the end, the two families stopped fighting and made a statue made of gold of each other's child. It was a beautiful moment.

I think their buried their sorror on drinking and parties and forgot the loses and still fought amoug each other
