QotD 100: Do anda think it's possible to make an interesting story without any conflict?

No, conflict is important in a story. If anda have no conflict, your characters have no drive, thus no plot, and it is not interesting to your characters. Any conflict is better than none. From a villain threatening to destroy the earth to a kid needing to buy a cake for his friend before the hari is over.
Sure, there are some indie things that have no plot, but that is lebih for artistic purposes, not for the story

Absolutely. I cinta short stories (and long) ones that just kind of describe meandering around in nature. I think sometimes a conflict-less journey that is heavily wrapped in poetic imagery is sometimes lebih satisfying than a story with conflict.

I've written a few myself in the form of original stories and fanfictions. Sometimes its nice to just have some light-hearted fluff atau to just be able to immerse yourself in a story's scenery/world.

That kind of story is about atmosphere and aesthetics and wanderlust. At least for me that's what conflict free stories are.

Yes, its definitely possible. Its just easier with conflict.

It's possible. There's plenty of stories that are populer without conflict. (Slice of life stories come to mind) It just might be easier depending on the subject.

To write a piece without conflict, of course. But to write a full story, like a 3 act structure story without any conflict? If someone knows of a story like this link me, cos I've never come across one.

As a writer, anda always need 'some' kinda conflict.. Not always has to be as serious as the end of the world. Could just be "I think Bob's jealous of me"
