When I was younger I would tell my parents some of my secrets. However, I did not tell them my friends secrets, unless I thought that it was something that they could help with. It wasn't that I thought I could not trust my parents, it was because my friends secrets were for them to tell not me.

Now that my parents have gone, I guess they must know all the secrets anyway.
