Research the video game industry and what its mostly comprised of. There are plenty of different careers but mainly for making games chances are anda want to aim at becoming a video game designer. Understand what exactly video game designers do on a daily basis. What are some challenges they may face, what skills are necessary, etc. What exactly do anda want to do when anda become a video game designer? Yes, anda want to desain games, but what kind of games? What sort of audience do anda want to aim for? Who will anda work with (because believe me, video game designers work in pairs atau groups; the workload of doing it alone is close to impossible unless you're trying to become an indie game designer) and how are anda going to get your game out to the public? I would also gain an understanding of the history of video games in general. I recommend membaca Rules of Play: Game desain Fundamentals. It is essentially the best textbook revolving around video game desain that I know personally. Keep up with what's going on in the gaming industry. If anda want to desain games, look at what's been done before. There are tons of games out there that are all successful in their own way; distinguish them from one another and figure out what makes this enjoyable for someone and what anda may atau may not like about it.

i also recommend if anda plan on producing a series with all sorts of characters to research character desain from appearance to personality to portray in-depth characters
lol and shine bright anda did, this was real helpful. I mostly wanted to work for Valve atau nintendo atau if possible make my own company. I had several games in my imaginiation/on paper that I wanted to work on if ever I had the chance.
Look for a Digital Design, atau other Creative Tech uni course paper.
I'm currently studying Digital desain at uni and game development is part of it.
I will say though, do your research before-hand. Many people out there go "I wanna make games for a living!" but then anda actually study it.....and many are put off like myself. If anda want to do it, cool, but be prepared that it's not as fun as people would think it would be. It's extremely frustrating and tedious work, but the result makes it worth it, so good luck.

I'm already frustrated and stressed with my journalism course which I do not like one bit, so I figured why not get frustrated and do tedious work for something I actually want to make a career out of and something I have a passion for..
Fair enough hahah. It's not for everyone even if the passion for video games is there. Video games are a massive part of my life and I always thought I would have a career in it but found it just wasn't for me, despite the passion. So yeah, I hope it all goes well for you! Just do your research before anda pay for a course so anda know what you're in for.
