We were at the common room now. ‘Pure-blood,’ I said carelessly. The door swung open and we entered. I kissed him on the cheek. ‘I’ll see you tomorrow, okay?’
Lucius smiled and nodded. ‘But – you forgot this.’ He slipped an emerald ring on my finger. I stared at him, shocked.
‘Lucius!’
‘What?’ he smiled innocently. ‘It’s tradition!’
