Hey, anyone used baking soda to remove build ups in your hair? If so, does it damage our hair??????

Yesterday I bought the baking soda. I heard it removes build up on the hair. But, when I read at the back that it can be used to clean dapur and stuff, I'm scared it's gonna damage my dry,coarse,frizzy hair instead of improving. So, anyone ever use it, please answer the questions. :OOO Thanks if anda do. :)
