As any diehard #TGIT fan knows, an essential part of fandom is shipping. For the uninitiated, to ship characters is to support the idea of a relationship between two or more characters, usually — but not necessarily! — in a romantic sense. But what do the Shondaland casts ship? 

 pushed for his character Fitz and Kerry Washington’s Olivia, while 

’s Viola Davis wryly picked Annalise and Annalise’s puppy-dog-eyed student Wes, played by Alfred Enoch. “I think it’s a mix of a maternal relationship but also at the same time, it’s a great kind of twisted student, demented teacher, demented mentor relationship,” she explains. “Plus, Alfie … he’s cute.”
