Nanda was the head of a community of cow-herders, and he settled in Vrindavana. The stories of Krishna's childhood and youth tell how he became a cow herder,[52] his mischievous pranks as Makhan Chor (butter thief), his foiling of attempts to take his life, and his role as a protector of the people of Brindavana.

Krishna killed the demoness like Putana, disguised as a wet nurse, sent oleh Kansa for Krishna's life. He tamed the serpent Kāliyā, who previously poisoned the waters of Yamuna river, thus leading to the death of the cowherds. In Hindu art, Krishna is often depicted dancing on the multi-hooded...

His six most important shrines in India are the Arupadaiveedu temples, located in Tamil Nadu. Durga (Hindustani pronunciation: [d̪uːrgaː]; Sanskrit: दुर्गा); meaning "the inaccessible"[1] atau "the invincible"; durga)[2] is a populer fierce form of the Hindu Goddess atau Devi. She is depicted with multiple (variously, up to eighteen) arms,[3] carrying various weapons and riding a ferocious lion atau tiger. She is often pictured as battling atau slaying demons, particularly Mahishasura, the buffalo demon.

For the Goddess-worshipping Shaktas, Durga is sometimes equated with Mahadevi, the Supreme Goddess. Her triumph as Mahishasura Mardini, Slayer of the buffalo Demon is a central episode of the scripture Devi Mahatmya. Her victory is celebrated annually in the festivals of Navaratri and Durga Puja.

Shiva, like some other Hindu deities, is berkata to have several incarnations, known as Avatars. Although Puranic scriptures contain occasional references to "ansh" avatars of Shiva, the idea is not universally accepted in Saivism.[171] The Linga Purana speaks of twenty-eight forms of Shiva which are sometimes seen as avatars.[172] In the Shiva Purana there is a distinctly Saivite version of a traditional avatar myth:

Virabhadra who was born when Shiva grabbed a lock of his matted hair and dashed it to the ground. Virabhadra then destroyed Daksha's yajna (fire sacrifice) and severed his head as...

selanjutnya morning Nambi's wife discovered Valli's disappearance. The furious hunter-chief organized a party of hillmen in pursuit of the fugitives. When they reached them, they discharged their arrows at Murugan, but the divine cock of the god crowed and the hunters fell dead. Valli lamented their death, but Murugan took her along. On their way they met Narada who explained to Murugan that he should have obtained the consent of the parents. The god therefore returned and ordered Valli to resuscitate the hunters which she gladly did. Murugan then assumed his true divine shape. Amazed and awed, the...

In the beginning, the Universe was covered with darkness, the universe was filled with darkness, the universe was only darkness. There were no sun,no moon ,no stars nor anything at that time. No little patch of fire, air, water, ether existed at that time. There was only emptiness. Emptiness everywhere. At that time 'sath' existed. Sath had no shape, no color, no personality. It was neither big nor small. Briefly, Sath is Satyam(the truth). It is the knowledge, happiness and other emotions.

The shapeless Brahma evolved according to the wishes. It turned into a Jyothirlingam. This Lingam was...

Lord Shiva can be viewed in two senses. I dont know which one anda are referring, so Im gonna tell both.
First of all, Hinduism teaches monotheism, the absolute Nirakara Rupa Parabrahma being classified into different forms atau avatars like waves in the ocean. Lord Shiva is one of it. Therefore, he can supposed to be a personification of a form of energy required for act of destruction, scientifically speaking. Lord Shiva is then part of the absolute, anda cannot tell which yuga he lived because he is always living. It's like asking in which tahun did kinetic energy exist?.
If anda are asking in the...

Ashok Sundari is a Hindu goddess the daughter of Lord Shiva & Parvati. She is very rarely known as she is not mentioned nor in Vedas & neither in Puranas. She is mainly known in Gujarati folktales & is created when Parvati makes Ganesha. It is berkata that when Lord Shiva kills Ganesha, Ashok Sundari hides behind bags of salt because she is frightened oleh her father. When Parvati finds out that her son is dead, she curses Ashok Sundari to melt in salt. However, after cooling down she blesses Ashok Sundari to be reborn in a rich family.
Her name can be membagi, split : Ashok means 'without sorrow' (Parvati created Ganesha & Ashok sundari to get rid of her sorrow of missing Mahadev & Kartikeya) & Sundari means 'beautiful girl'. Devon ke Dev ... Mahadev revealed Ashok Sundari to people.

Indra is the king of the cosmic gods. One time, pride entered into him because, while he was supreme in Heaven, he began to neglect Prakriti, who is Mother-Earth. Prakriti was so enraged that she cursed Indra. She berkata to him, “You will lose everything anda have—your throne, your kingdom, everything. Even your Guru, Brihaspati, will curse you.”

When he was cursed oleh Prakriti, Indra was so sad and depressed. He was literally sunk in despair. Who should come to him then but his own Guru, Brihaspati, who is the Guru of all the cosmic gods. Because Indra was so depressed, he did not tampil any...

The story of Murugan's courtship and his union with the daughter of the hunters, Valli, is the most important of all Tamil myths of the detik marriage of a god. In the Sanskrit tradition, Skanda is either an eternal brahmacārin (bachelor) atau the husband of a rather colourless deity, Devasena, the Army of the Gods. In Tamil, in contrast, the earliest reference to a bride of Murugan is to Valli and there can be no doubt whatsoever that Valli is the lebih populer and lebih important of Murugan's two brides. Hence, I do regard the lovely myth of Murugan and Valli as an indigenous-autochthonous...

When Nampi and his company disappeared, the god reappeared in human form, approached Valli and told her that he would like to cinta her. Valli was shocked, lowered her head, and answered that it was improper for him to cinta a woman from the low tribe of the haunters. At that moment they heard the sound of approaching drumming and music. Valli warned Murugan that the hunters are wild and angry men, and the god transformed into an old Saiva devotee. Nampi and his hunter's took his blessings and returned home.

The old man asked Valli for food, and she gave him some millet flour mixed with honey....
