I've seen a lot of polls and countdowns about which Disney Princess is the best role model, but I haven't seen one for the guys yet, so I decided to do a countdown for them.

I’m counting comments only, not votes, so make sure to comment! I’ll include the best comments in the article when the countdown is over.

The list so far:
11. Beast
10. Naveen
9. Kristoff
8.
7.
6.
5.
4.
3.
2.

He is still here? Why would he be a better role model than example Kristoff?
He is a criminal and nobody cares about it during the whole movie. Everyone is just forgive him, forget all the things he done and they live happily ever after.

He doesn't really do anything good while he's in the movie. The others may have more flaws, but they also have at least some admirable traits. He's just...charming.

Huh. Flynn or John Smith. For me, their actions during their movies are kind of a tie for me. But they both have some not so great qualities: John has some bigotry, until he learns differently, and tries to protect the Native American culture from the British; Flynn is a greedy boy and an opportunist, out for his own personal gain, before he changes his objective in life to protect Rapunzel.

I don't blame him for anything but he doesn't have any redeemable qualities. For all we know, he could be an excellent role model but we do not see it.

Or John Smith. Charming is simply lazy, generic, and judgmental. Not a great role model

He is a criminal. He does have a touching backstory but he is still a double crossing thief.

He's a killer. He's the one they all send to "deal with the natives". Also I like how everyone goes after Flynn for being a thief and not one person has reprimanded Aladdin for it.

KataraLover picked Flynn:
If we're going to depict John and Flynn for how they were at the beginning of their movies and ignore their character development, John is still the better role model. The reason for this is because you have to take into account that John Smith was living in a time where everyone was racist, heck, the Native Americans were racist towards the white people for goodness sake! So the whole murdering Native Americans in the past is more ignorance like everyone else during that time. Plus, while his character development wasn't the best, it was still pretty good. Yes, it was Pocahontas singing a song that changed him but it works because she's showing him several different wonders of her world. It's kind like Goofy and Max's relationship in A Goofy Movie where they did fight, they had the "Hi Dad Soup" moment and then they bond with several different activities that they both enjoyed. It was kind of glossed over but it was believable because they showed how real the relationship was and how the two had chemistry. Same with John and Pocahontas, they got to know each other and Pocahontas showed him different things. Flynn on the other hand was a thief that only stole for himself and would even steal from his own allies and betray them. Yeah, Aladdin stole too but he would only steal food so he could survive and would even give it to those who needed it more and defended the weak from people like that snobbish prince.

if we're going to ignore john smith's indian-killing and only concentrate on how he reformed, then we have to do that for everyone else -- and by the end of their movies most of these dudes have no flaws, so there's no point in talking about the beast's temper, or flynn's past, kristoff's a-hole tendencies, or naveen's serial womanizing and laziness. yet most of them have already been bounced from the countdown for it.

btw, the song the in question, the one about indian-killing, is done pretty gleefully. he's not even like *sigh* i guess this is just my duty... he's happy about it. ugh.
