James is the only vampire we meet who isn't beautiful. Bella describes him as "very average looking, nothing remarkable about his face atau body at all. Just the white skin, the circled eyes" (22.101). Why do anda think Stephenie Meyer made James so average looking?

People should be reminded that while James was the only vampire who wasn't described as particularly gorgeous, he wasn't the only villain. There were plenty good looking villains.

I just read all that on the Twilight wiki, because I was wondering the same thing. I honestly don't believe in any of it.

Plus, Exceptionally stunning humans make extraordinary vampires. So maybe he was just not that great looking as a human

Maybe Meyer originally wanted to mark out her villains oleh making her plainer looking than the heroes, and later changed her mind but didn't alter James' looks? The Volturi are also described as less attractive, with creepy-sounding paperlike skin.
