I seem to write best when something in the tampil is left hanging, so I'm menulis a fanfiction on the most baru saja episode, the season 4 finale. I haven't written in a while, so I'm a bit rusty. Leave komentar on anything and everything anda think of while reading! I appreciate all feedback :)
The words echoed in her head, bouncing off all sides, just to reach a new wall. She just wanted to lock the worry and hurt she felt into a small box that she could open at her own leisure. She wanted to focus on skeletons and dead people, anomalies and birth defects. The facts, the things that were constant and real, and couldn't change. She didn't want to feel, she didn't want to cinta atau hate, atau anything in between.
Why? Why couldn't he have forgotten Sid atau Dr. Sweets? I'm sure he would have liked to forget Sweets, then he'd have a reason to skip therapy. Temperance thought as she stared blankly at her computer screen. She sighed and began typing. She wrote the whole story over again, the same story she'd been menulis when he'd woken up. That's all she ever wrote, she never wanted to forget it. It was strange how she could recall every word with such ease. Every now and then she would mix it up, have her and Booth bicker atau Angela call her 'Sweetie', just to mix it with reality a little more. But this time was just like most, and she kept it exactly the same.
As she finished the last few words, she began to read it over; cherishing each lie, each time Booth touched her affectionately atau looked at her with lebih than just a partners' look. She smiled as she reached the end, thinking to herself that maybe this could happen one day.
But then she remembered something Booth had once told her: Cops get stuck, we bring in people like you: Squints. anda know, anda squint at things.
And he was right, she was a Squint. She belonged in the lab, just like Hodgins, Zack, Wendall and all of them.
Her line of thought was broken, however, when Dr. Sweets poked his head in, saying, "Dr. Brennan, may I have a word with you?"
She turned her head towards him and nodded, turning back towards her computer. She held the BACKSPACE button and watched as each letter, sentence, and paragraph disappeared. She turned back to Sweets when the screen was blank.
He cleared his throat and began, "I know that anda and Agent Booth were closer than just partners, and I know that this must be extremely hard for you, diberikan what's happened in the pa-"
"Sweets, I don't need to talk to you. I'm fine." she lied. She hated false compassion. Booth never talked to her like that, he never had to fake. He truly did care. In fact, he didn't even need to say anything. He was one of those people that just being with them made everything better.
"I know anda think that compartmentalizing fixes all problems, but in this situation-"
"No, I don't think that. And this 'situation' is no different than any other I've been in. I'm fine, Sweets." She berkata again. She felt as if that's all she berkata these days (out loud, any way). If Booth were his normal self, though, she'd tell him how she really felt. That she wasn't fine, no matter how hard she tried to be atau pretended to be. It was hard to admit, even to herself, but she had forged a bond between herself and Booth, and she almost regretted it now. She had put herself in front of road that often had huge meat-carrying trucks speed oleh on. She had been hit oleh one, and all because the bright lights had stunner her, mesmerized her even. The headlights of that ruck were like Booth's eyes, she just hadn't been able to look away. And now here she was, having a therapy session with herself while Sweets talked to her, completely oblivious to the fact that she just wasn't listening.
"-And anda have everyone else here for anda too. I mean Angela would definately talk to anda atau listen to you, if anda wanted to talk to someone anda felt lebih comfortable around....And I think anda should know that it's...possible...that Booth could get his memory back. Time truly could heal this." He finished with a sheepish smile, as if he regretted bringing up Booth.
"Sweets, I'd like to get back to work now. I have a lot of paperwork...A body was found near the teluk, da? that I need to look at. I'm not sure if they suspect foul play atau not, so this could be a murder..." She stared at her desk. If this was a murder, it would be so much harder for her. Losing Booth like that was one thing, but making it even lebih real. She'd have to get a new FBI agent to work with, seeing as Booth was still recuperating. She waited until Sweets left before letting a single tear fall, and not the first because of Booth; just one the few when he wasn't around to wipe away.
