New headcanon: Sherlock isn't really socially unaware/awkward when it comes to the girls that John dates. He just acts like that because he realized John will eventually find a girl to marry and pindah out. Not in a he-wants-to-be-a-couple way (unless anda like that), just that Watson is about his only friend & he knows that marriage would mean not working together as often.
