"Here anda go dear." Devin handed the ten tahun old child a gremlin/Frankenstein looking creation. It had floppy cat ears, different sized button for eyes, and different scraps of fabric holding the body together. An evil grin spread across the bulbous head, almost enough to creep out Fang.
"Thank anda mommy!" Mel squealed in delight.
"This will chase the monsters away." Devin kissed the child's head. Mel giggled, planting a ciuman on her mother's cheek.
"Goodnight dear." Devin wrapped her arms around the small child, kneeling down. Mel wrapped her arms around her mother, giggling.
"His name is Jackson. Give him a ciuman too, Mommy!"
"Alright dear, I'll give Jackson a kiss, then straight to tempat tidur with you." The small child nodded eagerly, and the malaikat kissed the doll. Mel giggled, sneaking another ciuman onto the Angel's cheek, and ran up to her room. Devin only smiled, shaking her head.
Mel sat on the bed, looking at her new friend.
"So, you'll chase the monsters away when I'm sleeping, okay?" Mel sat the stuffed animal on the foot of the bed.
"Okay..." A voice erupted from the doll, eerie, and quiet.
"Mommy didn't tell me anda talked." Mel looked at the doll.
"Your mother doesn't know that I can talk." The eyes seemed to blink. "You must keep it a secret..." The s'es were drawn out.
"But Mommy berkata I couldn't keep secrets from her, atau she'll whip me."
"She doesn't have to know about this..."
"O-Okay." The young girl didn't know to believe the doll, atau her mother.
"Now go to sleep."
"Okay. Goodnight Jackson." She gave the doll a ciuman on the head, and his wicked grin seemed to grow.
The young girl frantically looked around the never ending wasteland.
"Mommy?!" She cried out, tears streaming down her face.
"Daddy!?"
No reply, only echo.
"Jaime?!"
Nothing changed.
"Lexi!?"
Still, nothing.
"Jon!?"
lebih tears streamed down her face.
"You have me." The same eerie voice came from behind her. She whipped around, to young boy. Black hair, with red tips. Pale, almost grey skin. A long coat, no face, and a book. Mel stumbled back, before she could run, an outreached hand took her own. The boy crouched down, faceless, yet looking at her.
"I will protect you." He whispered, stroking her hand. The young boy had no face, but as he waved a hand where his mouth would be, and a piece of fabric shaped as a grin appeared. Scraps of fabric made up his skin, mix-matched. Button eyes appeared, just as Mel realized it was Jackson, in human form. She wrapped her arms around the boy, crying.
"Where is Mommy..." Mel sobbed. He only stroked his hair with his doll-like club of a hand.
"Can I have a piece of your skin?" The eerie voice whispered.
"W-Why?"
"To help me kill the bad things."
"O-Okay, Jackson."
Her eyes glowed red, and skin started to peel from her arm. She winced, whimpering slightly. When it finally came off, she held it out to the doll. The grin on the doll's face only grew wider, and Mel giggled to herself as she remembered he only moved at night. She slipped the patch of skin under the bed, and wrapped her arm. She giggled, and held the doll tightly in her arms.
"Do anda think she's okay up there?" Devin looked at Fang.
"Yeah, she's a girl, anda know how they are."
"She's my little girl." Devin bit her lip. "Let's go check on her." Fang looked up from his magazine.
"Fine with me." He set the magazine down, getting up from the couch.
Devin took his hand, and dragged him up the stairs practically at the speed of light.
"See, Mel, if anda don't do what I say, I wont keep the bad things away. I'll let them get to your siblings, and parents."
"Okay Jackson."
"How much do anda cinta me, Mel?"
"More than anything."
"How much do anda cinta me, Mel?"
"More than anything."
"How much do anda cinta me, Mel?"
"More than anything."
"Mel, sweetie?" Devin rattled the doorknob.
"Yes, Mommy?" Mel hopped off the bed.
"Open the door, sweetie."
Mel unlocked the door, hopping back onto the bed. Devin glanced at the wrappings on Mel's arm, while Fang shivered at the sight of the doll. Fang slowly moved behind Devin as he thought he saw the doll's grin... widen.
"Yes, Mommy?"
"What happened to your arm, sweetie?"
"Jackson wanted my skin."
Devin unwrapped the bandages, looking at the wound.
"He, wanted your skin?" Fang looked at Mel.
"Mel, sweetie. Don't do that, okay? Promise Mommy."
"I promise, mommy. I'm sorry."
The Angel's eyes glowed, and she placed her hands over the wound. Healing the wound, Devin had an eerie feeling grow from her stomach. Fang picked up the doll, raising his eyebrow.
"GYAH!" Fang dropped the doll as it blinked.
"Daddy!" Mel slipped from Devin's grasp, catching the doll. Her arm was healed, and the wrappings lay on the floor.
"What happened?" Devin took Fang's hand.
"That thing blinked."
"Well of course he did. And he isn't a thing. His name is Jackson."
"Sure." Fang studied the doll. Mel climbed back onto the bed.
"I'm tired." Mel stretched, then reached for her mother.
"Mommy, can I have a hug?"
The malaikat wrapped her arms around the small girl, causing giggles to erupt from her. Mel smiled, pressing herself closer to her mother. Devin began walking, floorboards creaking, Fang following silently behind.
"Goodnight Mommy." Mel glanced at the clock that stood on the nightstand.
"Good morning Mommy." Mel snuggled into the sheets. She was lebih nocturnal as a child, and still not knowing what powers she had, her parents allowed it.
"Goodnight Mel." She earned a ciuman on the head from her mother, father, and Jackson in his human form. Mel gripped her mother's kemeja before she could leave.
"Mommy, anda don't have to leave the door open. I'm not scared of the bad things anymore." Devin smiled, and kissed her child on the head once more.
"That doll creeps me out." Fang flipped through his magazine.
