She was tossed beside the others, wounded and coughing up blood. She looked up at the owner of the black boots and scowled.
“What do anda plan, Amber?”
“Shall I explain? Hook them up.”
Several guards grabbed them and locked their wrists and ankles down. Visors were placed over their eyes. A hum sounded from nearby; a machine of some sort.
“Explain this Amber!”
“You are in position to demand, warrior. But I will oblige you. Serepta, get Tigress.”
Footsteps were heard as Amber seemed to pindah closer.
“What anda are about to experience is total inhalation. anda see, this machine moves minds and souls, tearing them apart. I'm going to remove yours and replace you.”
“With who?!”
“Well seeing as how Serepta loves your little bird, warrior, it only makes sense that she replaces you. Your old master Talia shall serve as little Midnight here, as infiltration. harimau betina shall replace Erin and I must admit that I've become quite...fond of the bird boy Devin raves about.”
“What of Cat?”
“Oh don't worry. She is hooked to a different machine. One that makes her crazy, bloodthirsty, and the wonderful beast she was moments ago.”
“How do anda plan on controlling her? She'll tear anda to shreds.”
“She won't. If the machine doesn't drive her insane, it will kill her.”
“NO!”
Becca tugged at her restraints, finding no results. She heard a few sniffles and whimpers, indicating that someone was crying. Footsteps were heard again and then silence.
“Becca?” a scared voice asked aloud.
“Cat....”
“I-I don't want to die. But if I do...make sure Scott knows I cinta him.”
“I will. I promise.”
“Becca?” Erin interjected. “Will he even know you? Know her?”
“He will know Cat, but not me.”
“Tara...you okay?”
“I can't see.”
“We're wearing visors.”
“No I mean...I can't see anything in my head.”
“Explain.”
“When I'm in danger, I get visions that could help in the future. I'm not getting any. Oh my goodness! I'm going to die, aren't I?”
“No one is going to die!”
“But Becca-”
“HUSH!”
The room was silent, save the low humming and the sound of someone sobbing.
“Who's crying?” Erin asked.
“Devin.”
“I can't help it,” the malaikat whispered.
“What's wrong?”
“Fang-”
“You'll see him again.”
“But Becca Amber's going to replace me! She's going to marry him instead of me!”
“Devin she won't marry-wait what?!”
“We're engaged.”
Silence filled the room again. Becca opened her mouth to speak, but the sound of doors made her shut her mouth. She heard the sound of four pairs of feet. Not good. Not good at all.
