BEWARE OF SPOILERS!!!!!

So, I just got back from seeing 'The Wolverine' (I know, I'm a late watcher), and I have to say, I was impressed, which is not something I thought would ever come out my mouth regarding an X-men related film.

However, I believe that is also part of it. It may be related to the X-men franchise, but it wasn't about the group. It followed the fan favorite. Hopefully, this combined with Days of Future Past gives fan an opportunity to get their fill of Logan and start moving on to other characters, since that's what the X-men are about. A group, not an individual.

Anyway, back to the film itself (this is my last warning, there are spoilers! Many of them! This whole damned review is a spoiler!), right from the opening I was hooked. I have always been fascinated oleh the bombings of Nagasaki and Hiroshima, so "watching" it happen was pretty cool. It also really gives anda a glimpse into Logan's character in order to do something like what he did for Yashida.

We are then transported to Canada where a hermit like Wolverine is staying. This was a fantastic take on him and I loved every bit of it, which is saying a lot coming from someone who was never a huge Logan fan. The hallucinations of Jean, which are reoccurring throughout the film, are heart-wrenching as it gives anda a huge look at what killing Jean took from him even though he knew he had to do it. It really follows what Hugh Jackman berkata in an interview about Jean and how is relationship with her was the most important in his life. That says a lot for a man who has lived as long as he has.

I would just like to mention that I wanted to bawl like a child (I didn't though) when Logan had to kill that poor bear. It was interesting to see his relationship with the animal, however short lived it was as an audience, and his revenge for his friend and the people he'd (the bear) accidentally murdered.

Yukio was actually my favorit person in this movie, other than Logan, as she adds so much that the movie would have otherwise not had. Her mutant ability to forsee death was a welcomed surprise.

Mariko...I'm not sure how I feel about her. That's not always a good thing, since I like to know whether I like a character atau not, even if the feeling changes over time (like my feelings on Logan).

Harada. I seriously laughed when he came on screen and his name was mentioned since I knew he was the Silver Samurai in the comics, but when he turned out not to be in the movie, I was pleasantly shocked. I also MIGHT have giggled because he looked like a Japanese Hawkeye. Just saying.

ular berbisa, viper was a great character, but her actress annoying the living SHIT out of me. I liked everyone else in the film, especially Rila Fukushima (Yukio), but Svetlana Khodchenkova did not do a good job as ular berbisa, viper in my opinion. I'm in a particularly good and rare mood so I don't want to rip on her, but please let me know if I'm the only one feeling this.

Now, Jean. As I mentioned before, the hallucinations were a pleasant kind of heartwrenching, but his progression from just wanting to die and be with her, even though this Jean was all in his head, to deciding to let her go and live was fantastic and it added a hell of a lot lebih dimension to the movie.

The twist at the end, which I won't spoil in this artikel for anyone who HASN'T seen it, wasn't really a twist to me since I thought it was going to happen. Maybe not in that way, but something close to it. However, my mother was shocked so maybe it's a matter of perspective and level of insanity.

Finally, the mid-credits scene. I'll have to wait until Days of Future Past comes out and I see it to really give my two-cents on it since I'm as confounded as Logan. I understand why they're there and how it happened, but damn I wanted more. It didn't help that the movie theater already had goddamn movie posters for Days of Future Past outside The Wolverine.

All in all, it was my favorit in the franchise yet and I can't wait to see X-men: Days of Future Past in the hopes that it will surpass The Wolverine. Let me know what anda thought of the movie below.
