How do anda come up with new RP Characters?

Everyone has their own methods of character creation, and I have learned anda know someone better from learning the way their imagination works. For me I combine parts of myself with a character from someone modern pop culture, usually a disney movie atau so.

I usually find a picture of a person and think, 'what would they do in *Insert show/rp*?' Then I fill the character sheet out

like I'm really into Supernatural, so I made an malaikat for the show

Name: Misal
Name of your Vessel: Mika De Corbin
Age of your vessel: 24
Personality: Fun, rule breaker, pantat, keledai kicker, rebel, truth seeker

Vessel appearance:
Extra:She scratched a menyeberang, salib into her malaikat blade with a car key

For me personally, i tend to use a process that involves three steps.

STEP 1: "Pick A Side"

Basically, i decide whether i want a likable atau hated character. For example, my "Likable" character in the White menyeberang, salib RP would be Aeolus, since he's childish and ditzy and friendly. My "Hated" character, Leon, is an asshole, simply put. He's arrogant, a bully, basically everything anda want in a bad guy.

STEP 2: "Pick a Trait"

So, after i pick a side, i look at my own personality. If i pick a likable character i look at traits i have that are likable, and if i pick hated, traits that i atau other people dislike about myself that are genuinely bad traits. I do this because i find it easier to write when my character has a part of me in them, and in this way, every character i make is like me in some manner. it's just the fact that berkata manner is amplified oleh a lot.

Again using White menyeberang, salib as an example, when making Aeolus i decided i wanted an immature, childish character because i tend to act a lot younger than i am when i'm with my friends, mainly to piss them off, but it's a part of my personality. I'm just childish at heart. So i took that aspect of my personality, that specific trait, then amplified it to "fill in" the rest of his personality. How does Aeolus respond to heights? He loves them. I don't, but if i fully embraced my childish mindset i would. Basically, i use that base trait to define everything else about them.

STEP 3: "Finalization"

After all that and a bowl of ice cream, i evaluate my character and see if they are a complete entity and not just a walking singular trait, but a complex being based off a base trait. if they are, yay! If not, i add a detik trait to further build on them. For example with Aeolus, i added his clumsiness so that he felt lebih authentically childish, falling over and tripping a lot but brushing it off without a care in the world.

That about summarizes my character creation process! Good pertanyaan Shadow, i never really thought about exactly how i go about making characters extensively until now! Thank anda for giving me the initiative to evaluate my style of doing things in comparison to anda guys'.

Of course it depends on the type of genre atau theme. Every time I find a forum I deem to have potential, I simply observe which different archetypes have been already taken atau ones I've already done in sebelumnya forums. Then I make the distinction as to which type of character could truly add to the story. Characters need to have development as well, for starters, it's common for me to imagine putting my character into a tough situation where he handles it poorly, then later on compare it to a situation where he/she makes the right decision. One of the biggest pieces of character development in my book is the mistakes made. Everyone is flawed, and that must be true for a roleplay character.
