Definitely! He starts off already well designed with a complex, multi-layered personality and a deep backstory that gets revealed as the story progresses, so the writers really did themselves a favour by making him interesting right from the start. Then, as the movie continues, he questions things about his own life, grows up a bit, and develops strong relationships with a variety of characters that also develop throughout the story. Very well developed indeed!
