Veronica Mars The Castle???

After watching the finale of series 3 I am so freaked out about the fact that those paintings were on the wall. Does anyone get it? Were they members? Is it a coinsedence that they were veronica´s best frend and boyfriend? Are we supposed to not know whats going on?

I thought it was pretty much explained that it was Jake Canes mansion. Since his daughter is dead and we have no clue if he knows anything about his son.

Only thing i don't understand is why did that one guy post the video of Veronica and Piz in the first place.
