Flora was not at all happy at the situation. At the moment, she was perched on puncak, atas of the truck with a grumbling Irisian girl who was chewing sugarcane. The only other things she had for company were bales of jerami, hay that were being eaten oleh a black buffalo that was tied to the edge of the truck.
Flora had been zoning out, staring at the scenery that was rushing past her.
Tatalena took a big bite out of her sugarcane and chewed loudly. "'Ey," she called out to Flora.
Flora jumped a little bit and looked at her. "Sorry, you're talking to me?"
Tatalena nodded vigorously. "You from Magic?" she asked in heavily accented, severely broken English. If Flora thought that her English before had been bad, it seemed even worse at that time.
Flora blinked, tried to decipher what she had just said, and nodded. "Yes, I'm from Magix."
Tatalena nodded, still chomping loudly on her sugarcane. "I..." she said, trying to find words. "I...Irisian, from the Iris."
It took all of Flora's willpower not to burst out laughing. But she could not resist smiling at Tatalena.
"You know," Flora berkata to Tatalena, in the native language, "I can speak your language. "
Tatalena shook her head defiantly. "You no teach the Irisian," she continued, splattering Flora's face with phlegm and sugarcane juice. She spat out her bite over the truck and made another attempt to impress Flora with her English. She waved her sugarcane. "This sugary," she said. Vaguely, she gestured with her sugarcane stalk towards the buffalo. "That...black bains-lo."
At this point, Flora was dangerously close to seriously cracking up. "You mean buffalo. "
Tatalena stomped her foot. "You useless Magic! anda no teach the Irisian, anda no Iris! Bad than black bains-lo!"
Flora sighed. "I," she said, slowly and loudly as though she were talking to a four-year-old, "Not. From. Iris...but...the Iris is beautiful," she tried.
Tatalena snorted. "Oye, live there, cinta here?"
Flora shook her head. "No! I not live the Iris, but I cinta the Iris."
Tatalena spat out her selanjutnya bite of sugarcane, right on puncak, atas of Flora's feet. Disgusted, she kicked the stuff away.
"Okay," Flora sighed once more. "I not live the Iris, but I cinta the Iris. Today, Irisians all over the universe, making the Iris proud." She raised one eyebrow at her.
"You no teach the Iris!" Tatalena screeched before taking another bite out of her sugarcane stalk. "What, anda as clueless as black bains-lo?"
"Fine!" Flora yelled back. It was the first time she had actually been truly angry before. "Look, are anda always this stupid-shupid, atau is today some special occasion, competing with the black...bains-lo?"
"Urgh!" Tatalena snarled back before flopping down on a bale of hay, chewing her sugarcane and crossing her arms. Flora heard her mutter, under her breath and in her native language, "Foreigner garbage. They have no respect for other people."
Flora remembered what Caelestis had said, that a Tatalena would save her. But she had no idea how this short, strange, grumbling Irisian girl would be able to help her in any way.
Bloom felt happy. They were making progress. They had freed Rae from her prison and deposited the jewel in the pouch where the two eyes were.
"I think we should go for the autumn sector next," berkata Layla. "And then we can deal with those nymphs from the spring sector. bunga petals will be easy to find."
They all nodded. "Yeah," berkata Riven. "I've heard that those nymphs from the autumn sector will run away so easily that it would take forever to lure one out."
"But we have to try," Sky insisted.
"And try we will," Bloom berkata in a determined voice.
At that moment, Echo walked oleh and greeted them with a smile. Bloom thought she looked regal as ever, especially with the spectacular peacock feathers that sprouted from her headdress.
"Well, then," she berkata awkwardly, clasping her hands. "Doing a little sightseeing, are you?"
Bloom nodded. "Yep," she said. "I've heard that the autumn sector looks like fireworks."
She quickly glanced back at her friends and mouthed, Am I laying it on too thick?
They smiled at her approvingly.
Echo nodded again, pursing her lips. "It is beautiful there," she agreed. "I must be going now. Some skandal in the winter sector about the Crystal Ladies getting themselves rendered blind." She shook her head in disbelief as she walked away.
As soon as she was out of earshot, Musa snorted at Echo's disappearing figure.
"I have a feeling that one's going to be nosy," she murmured in a singsong voice.
Nabu laughed. "Ember is far worse."
They all laughed awkwardly, and Bloom said, "Well, we best be heading off, too, I guess."
If anda gathered around every single nymph in the autumn sector of the island, anda would realize that no two nymphs looked the same. Ever. They all had slick black hair that was streaked with every color between the deepest red and the palest gold. Their hair was braided down their backs and was tied off with a golden ribbon that was covered in bright leaves, berries, and emas tassels.
Their gowns were sheer emas and skintight at the bodice, and covered with intricate black and red markings. The skirts, however, were loose and flowing and were all different shades of red, orange, gold, and brown.
Their belts were absolutely heavy with sweet-scented nuts, leaves, blossoms, and berries. And they all had geometric markings on their faces, no two exactly the same.
Naturally, it was tough enough to get a hold of something on their belts and try to yank it off. But what made that job even tougher was the fact that they were always so timid. Being from the autumn sector, many thought that they would be brash and brilliant and not shy, like the autumn warna displayed, but they seemed to be the complete opposite. The smallest foreign sound, a distant storm, the inexplicable snapping of a branch, would send them flying back into the trees that they were the spirits of.
omg, Omg, OMg, OMG, I AM SO SORRY FOR THE LOOOOONG DELAY!!!!! anda really have no idea how busy I've been, and I have not had ANY time to write this article! If I could actually say how sorry I am, I would, but instead I will slap myself in the face for the rest of the day.
