\'s Season 6 finale, many fans may have watched the latest episodes to jump on for Season 7, haven\'t watched any but are tired of missing out, or just want to reflect on the complex 16 episodes the took us from October 2015 to April 2016.
In any case, that\'s just what we\'re going to do here.
\'s sixth season saw so many different stories and subplots that it can be hard to decide which are more important than others. Having knowledge of the comics and a touch of knowledge of things to come in Season 7, though, things get a little bit easier.
On the following slides, we\'re going to run through the most important story lines from
\'s sixth season with nine weeks between us and a new hour of the series. Obviously, that means spoilers for the sixth season follow, so you can\'t say we didn\'t warn you.

Hands down the biggest factor from Season 6 which will be a focal point in Season 7 is Negan and his Saviors. The group bullied the Hilltop prior to Rick's arrival and now they have Rick and the rest of the survivors right where they want them.
In Season 6, Rick launched an assault on Negan's group as he oozed with overconfidence. He took out an entire compound which was housing some of the savages and it resulted in Maggie and Carol only taking out more at another location. Needless to say, Negan wasn't happy.
Going forward, Negan will do what he can to make Alexandria and its residents bend to his wishes, whatever they are.
Though the Hilltop was only featured in a single episode of
's sixth season, it will become a very important community in the coming months.
Hailing from the Kingdom is a level-headed survivor by the name of Jesus. Though its current leader is the pompous coward Gregory, Jesus plays a major part in Rick and the group's survivor and Maggie's eventual emergence as head of the Hilltop.
In Season 6, we saw that Negan had been menacing the Hilltop and its community was willing to betray its leader to satisfy Negan's desires. The moments spoke to the lack of respect for Gregory but also the fear of Negan. Coming episodes will likely explore more character who call the Hilltop home.
Season 6 saw the reveal of Maggie's pregnancy in its earliest episodes. She developed a very friendly relationship with Aaron as the two of the them searched for Glenn, not knowing that he was spending some time beneath a dumpster after the incident with Nicholas in Thank You.
Capping the season, Maggie's pregnancy looked to be in jeopardy as she faced complications (not to mention Negan). Assuming the show follows the comics or at least doesn't kill Maggie off, her pregnancy will be key component for the character's future. We know that Glenn is the one who Negan unleashes Lucille upon on those black and white pages which would only further her difficulties going forward on the show.
Of course, as mentioned earlier, we can expect Maggie to go on and become a leader at the Hilltop. We caught our first glimpse of the moments when she all but bullied Gregory into offering much of his resources to the Alexandria group in exchange for their protection while he was recovering from an attack in bed.
Whether or not Abraham survives Negan's game of eenie-meenie-minie-moe, his love triangle was a key component of season 6 which will make an impact in the coming episodes.
Midway through the season, Abraham found himself attracted to Sasha though he was dating Rosita at the time. He left her behind with a very cold break up with the only response to her begging for reasons being, "Why are dingleberries brown?" He quickly took his things and moved in with Sasha.
Going forward, Rosita, Sasha, and Abraham will all be effected by the love triangle in addition to the aftermath of Negan's introduction.
Never forget that Richonne happened in Season 6. Only one episode after Rick cut off his girlfriend Jessie's arm and watched her get eaten by walkers, he found himself cozying up with his katana-wielding lady friend, Michonne. Okay, in his defense, there was a time jump in between the episodes but it still felt pretty quick!
For the remaing six episodes, Rick and Michonne remained in their relationship. They moved in together. They laid in bed eating apples together. They even went out to take on Negan together.
In the comics, Rick ended up with Andrea for the long haul around the same time he has found himself with Michonne on the TV series. Many suspect Michonne will become his right hand for the upcoming war with Negan and other survival obstacles going forward.
