I think they should've stuck with the book when it came to how they looked. I felt like they made her brunette because of all the things people think about blondes. Caroline's character in the show matches the blonde stereotype so they made her blonde not redhead.

I wish she had been a brunette in the books to be honest and I'm so glad Nina has amazing dark brown hair! And as someone rightly said Nina wouldn't look good with pale blonde hair..seriously.
