1.    Damon and Elena have real chemistry- anda can just feel the sexual tension whenever anda see them together on screen. Watch the scenes with them together, and you’ll see what I mean. If that isn’t a sign, then nothing is.
2.    Elena is Damon’s humanity. Over the first season, there were definite changes to Damon as his relationship with Elena developed. When Damon finally got the nerve to have a real jantung to jantung with Elena [even if it turned out to be Katherine] anda got to see the real gentle, loving side to Damon. Elena brought that out of him, even though he had been adamant that he was nothing lebih than a monster.
3.    Damon is honest with Elena. He doesn’t lie like Stefan does to her, and never keeps things from her. He doesn’t treat her like she’s breakable, and isn’t afraid to hurt her feelings to let her in on the truth. I think the only time he kept something from Elena was when they first met, and he didn’t tell her that she was the doppelganger of Katherine.
4.    Damon knows Elena is not Katherine. From the word go, Damon has always insisted that Elena and Katherine were different people. Stefan had to spend time watching Elena to realise this before he met her officially. A lot of people use the excuse that Damon wants Elena because she looks like Katherine- but that isn’t true in my opinion. On Founders Day, he even told Elena that he didn’t think her being in old style dress suited her, which had made her look even lebih like Katherine. Damon is able to separate the two.
5.    They are simply epic. It sums up everything between them and the story they have together. Their relationship built up over time, and they have a bond that is unique. Sure, Damon’s antics from season 2 so far have certainly helped to kill of Delena, but don’t give up hope. A Phoenix could still rise from the ashes, and something stronger could take their original bond’s place.

I don't mean to but in, but number 4, "Damon is able to sparate the two"... that's not entirely true. Damon had been fooled oleh Katherine. He thought she was Elena. However, Stefan had been able to distinguish between the two.

I have an argument for that too. Ever been so extremely nervous that anda simply stuttered out words and acted on impulsion? That is exactly what Damon did. As much as he makes out he's cocky and arrogant, he's still like anyone else when it comes to admitting his feelings. He wasn't expecting Katherine to be back, and he was hardly in the most comfortable of situations when it came to confessing his feelings to 'elena' in the Founders Episode. He wasn’t looking for a reason for it not to be Elena, and couldn’t believe his luck when she kissed him back. Emotions got in the way of Damon even noticing the difference. Stefan was already with Elena, he didn’t have the same nerves as Damon did, and was relaxed enough to notice.

Maybe emotions did mask Damon's realization of the situation, but saying Stefan was relaxed enough to notice, i don't think qualifies for this argument. Stefan wouldn't have expected Katherine to be back either. She tried to play both of them. IMO, they were both "emotional". They were both almost killed that night. I'm sure they were both equally emotional. Maybe two kinds of emotional, but emotional all the same. And another "argument" to the beginning of the point... "Stefan had to spend time watching Elena to realize this before he met her officially..." He was being cautious and curious. And that curiosity led him to her. How do anda know Damon knew she wasn't Katherine from the get go? He could have been snooping in Stefan's journals, he could have been keeping tabs on her as well, seeing as how he follows Stefan inevitably...

I'm just going oleh what I saw, and felt, on screen. Damon looked like he wasn't used to admitting his feelings, and that he was so focused on admitting everything that he let his guard down and completely forgot about Katherine in that moment. I’m not saying Damon couldn’t have realised, but I know for a fact that if I had been doing the same thing with the doppelganger of my lost love, I wouldn’t have realised it wasn’t in fact that person. Stefan would have already been subconsciously guarded in that first scene with Katherine, because he knew that there was some kind of threat to Elena from whoever had killed John- he was on edge and practically expecting something bad to happen. Damon berkata to Stefan after meeting Elena for the first time that she was nothing like Katherine- which is why I think he can distinguish between the two. Damon might have snooped, who knows, but something tells me he simply took everything literally at face value when he met Elena. I might be wrong, but hey, we can't read the mind of the characters we are watching.

Well, even though I'm for Stefan and Elena being end game, I do appreciate what Elena has done for Damon. She has diberikan him his humanity and she has acted like a great friend to him. But that's all I see them as. Like in the episode "Killed atau Be Killed", Elena says "It's anda and me Stefan. Always." I just don't seeing them breaking up anytime soon. anda say Damon and Elena have a relationship, they have chemistry. Are anda saying Stefan and her don't? They have gone through the ups and downs, yet their relationship stays in tact. She saw him at his worst, she helped him through that. Of course she would help Damon, but that's because she cares for him now that she is in Stefans life. Kind of like a step brother? She knows Stefan cares for Damon, which btw, I cinta Stefan and Damon's relationship XD. And in turn, she had to give him a chance too since Stefan has diberikan him many for all these years.

that's a really good answer! anda pretty much summed it up but if i could add one thing...just a comment, also i noticed that elena and damon make each other better people its not just one way around. oh, and i think stelena is a good couple but not for TV there's a difference between a couple in real life and a couple on TV
