I agree that while it IS possible, I just don't see it. I see them as more of a loose sibling/friends relationship. Also, according to Mme. Giry's story in 2004 film, I imagine that she would be in her early to mid teens when she rescued Erik from the Gypsy cage, and he would have been around 10. Call me old fashioned, but the girl being older than the guy in a relationship is too weird for me.

Age wise it would've been best but still Mme Giry didn't want to be with him you could tell because for all we know she might have only gone as far as she did once or twice before leading Raoul to him

I can see how someone might think that if they're looking at the 2004 film. They kind of set that up. However if you look at EVERY other version you'll see NO rhyme or reason to pair the two up. Especially if you look at the original novel.
