Like I've said before he's just a little too creepy for me.

He gave a very skilled performance. It's rare that you see an actor in a role that he's never played before, if you know what I mean. There was no vestige of previous roles or of his own personality. He was simply the Joker.

Yeah, I thought that he played the part very well, I just didn't much like the part he was playing.

Yes, he was definitely scary. Much more frightening than previous Jokers. But that fits in well with the new, darker take on the Batman franchise.

I know what you mean. The new movies are making the characters more realistic and therefore more threatening. Whereas previous incarnations have been more stylized- less like an actual person, more of a caricature.

I agree with fanfly.
There are a lot of actors that look the same whoever they play. But Heat did a great job. He became Joker. I think with all my respect to Jack Nicholson performance - Heath showed a real person who really can exist.
Great Job. Hope they will give him Oscar.

It's not just about the makeup. His mannerisms, his voice, everything was unrecognizable as Heath Ledger.

Yup, like LaraCroft87 said there are a ton of actors that always look and act the same no matter what part there playing. And I do think he did a good job acting that part, in such a different way.

Yeah, there's some good actors out there that I enjoy watching, but the truth is most of their roles are similar. Or they play them with the same mannerisms, etc. I think many actors find a certain way that works for them, that the audience likes, and then they're afraid of changing, of pushing themselves to be different. They stick to what's comfortable and what earns them money.

the joker (heath's joker) is an amazing character! but i noticed that this kind of character could be in all different sorts of movies (or even books). for example i dont necessarily think that this joker was very loyal to the original idea of the joker. so if you took away the make-up, the scars, the suit, and the laugh, and changed a few other aspects around. whats left would be something just as great as this performance...but would not actually be the joker. i think that the jokers personality could fit into a lot of different images and characters. thats why i like him as a symbolic FIGURE more than just a "cool ass villian." but obviously i still loved the pure entertainment that the role brought.

I do agree that we do only see the Joker and not Heath Ledger, but Heath's Joker is absoloutely awesome. Even though he is mad and insane and such a dark character, he makes it look brilliant.

Heaths Joker was the best so far in a movie. Joker is dipicted as a cold blooded killer that gets his kicks off by torturing his victims before he does away with them. He could be all chummy one minute and then stab you in the back the next.

Once I saw The Joker in TDK I was like he is so awsome!!!!

The one thing I can say: I never seen more powerfull caracter with such force of will, than Joker is.

It takes a lot to play the part and even more to be convincing. Heath did this very well you couldn't even tell Heath was playing the Joker. That's what you need to be an actor believability!

this, as they say, was Heath ledgers finest hour. In my opinion it is though he gave a powerful performance in Brokeback Mountain as well. Those two movies defined him and made him who he was when he died. His acting in this has gone down as one of the best in cinema history of all time. He was amzing and i feel sorry for his friends and family who constantly miss him (i.e. Matilda, parents, sister, michelle and best friend Jake gyllenhaal).

i think he is pretty awsome. i have always loved the joker so when i watched the movie, i immediatly loved him (and i think his pencil trick is really cool) he is sexy
