A film company called Color Force has acquired film rights to the Hunger Games. According to the International Movie Database, the film is projected to be released in 2011.

Color Force seems to be a relatively new company, and little to no information is available.

It seems that Nina Jacobsen, former president of the Buena Vista Motion Pictures Group, is either working with atau owns Color Force. Jacobsen has an extensive history as a film executive, overseeing projects for films such as Pearl harbor, The Chronicles of Narnia, the Pirates of the Caribbean, Signs, and the Princess Diaries, among others.

Update: Lionsgate will be working with Colorforce on this film.

jackie5starr w8...im soooo confused...i checked imdb.com and there isn't rly any information on the hunger games so im not sure if we are talking about the same one...

DominateEarth We're talking about the same one. All IMDB really has is the projected release date, but that may be way off. Spirit Ball: I have no idea what you're talking about... that doesn't make any sense.

Mr_Nmm I am worried about it because they can not show Katniss's emotions which is a big part of the book on screen i am scared...

Ashes13 The whole time I was reading the book I thought that it would make an AMAZING movie. I am sooooo excited now!!! I sure hope they pick a good actress for Katniss though..... I really relate to her in the book.

DominateEarth Yes, that is completely true. She's going to begin work on the screenplay after she finishes writing the third book!

primrose97 hey so does anyone know how to contact suzanne collins or the casting director because i'm in several acting clubs and i've done a whole bunch of performances (not all school plays) and i'd be really good in the movie but i live in tennessee so i dont know how i'd audition and i'd be really great in this movie.
