Somebody please help me ?

Am I the only one who does not understand the storyline ? Alicia told Peter , there's nothing between she and will , okey . In front of grand jury she accepted that they had an affair , I mean why .. she didn't has to do that anyway And now Peter knows that they had an affair ? I didn't get it .

I think that she told the grand jury about her affair with Will so that Wendy couldn't go after her for perjury... but if Wendy didn't know for sure about the affair, Alicia probably could have lied. And I think that Peter already knew about her and Will, and didn't really believe her when she told him there was nothing between them.
