Stuart Matthew Biography

Harsh Chandra (born August 01, 1998 in Prayagraj, India), better known professionally as Stuart Matthew is an Indian YouTuber and Singer-songwriter belongs to Hindu-christian family. Matthew began his career by filming himself singing on his YouTube channel. In Feb 2016, his first single "Faith" was nominated for Best Pop Artist in India's biggest independent award, Radio City Freedom Awards. His cover of Good For You made him listed in Top 10 YouTube Singers Similar to Selena Gomez after which his voice have been described as soft and sensual. Matthew was born and raised in Allahabad, India to Nisha Chandra and Niraj Chandra. Matthew is of Hindu descent. He always wanted to do major in medical study. When he was 13 years old, he was insisted to be in the choir group for school and church assemblies. By the time he qualified, he gained huge interest in music and instruments. In 2014, Matthew started his own YouTube channel. He quickly found audience on social media platforms after recording covers of artists like Jasmine Thompson and Lana Del Rey. In 2015, he wrote and released his first single 'Faith' which was later nominated for Best Pop Artist in Radio City Freedom Awards in February, 2016. He currently have around 9 original songs released worldwide. He also premiered original songs in the tone of R&B-influenced synth-pop such as Selfish and Want You Back both in 2017. His cover Love Yourself got multiple entries in Trending in Shazam City Chart of Week'. In september 2017, he also received his first silver certification record for his sultry-slow hip-hop track Breathe Me (feat. Stuart Matthew) which was recorded with Amit Mike and in early October their first collaborated cover 'Love The Way You Lie' was also trending for Shazam City Chart of the Week. He also released My Story, Lately in June 2017 to share mental positivity awareness, including an original song Stay.
