^^ these are great icons , but the person whose banner wins gets to make the icons so that they match! Sorry :)

Why is that necessary?
I mean, the current icon and banner are made by 2 diffrent people and they match perfectly!
And this goes for a lot of spots.
Plus, I also think it's unfair to people who can't make banners, but make gorgeous icons.
(I'm not talking about me, just so you're clear. ;P)
And if you make a summary with the winning banner and the possible icons,
you can see quickly which pair matches and which one doesn't.

But that's just my opinium. :)

well because the banner that we have now wasnt for a monthly spot change. It was just a random change. This is our first time doing this. And the rules say that the person that makes the banner makes the icon so that it matches perfectly
And its not about fair and unfair its just what the rules say. I didn't come up with these rules. They were taken off of another spot thats been doing this for a while and clearly this way has worked for them.
Plus i have already messaged the person whose banner won to make sure they submit their icons by today so that it can be changed for March since its the March/April look. And its just that we want the coloring to match.

Sorry , but this way has been working for many spots for a really long time. Its just easier :)

Okay, I'm sorry that I keep continuing on this topic but I still don't understand your point of view. It just doesn't make any sense to me. Please don't be mad. :) And I don't want to sound like a bitch or anything, it has just been bugging me a while now and I just need to say it.

1) What difference does it make whether it's a random change or a monthly change?
2) Who says that you HAVE to follow these rules? If someone else made these rules, then that doesn't mean that everyone who wants to change a spot look has to agree with these, right?
3) Of course it's about fair & unfair! For example, how would you feel if you'd never get the chance to have your creation as spot icon of your favorite couple just because you don't know/are terrible at making icons? How is it not unfair when a person who's the best at making banners but sucks at making icons is the only option to choose from.
(Just to clarify, Jov, your banners & icons are all stunning!)
4) Didn't I say the same about making the banner & icon match perfectly?
Let me give you a few examples of spot looks who's coloring match perfectly:
- One Tree Hill: IMO, this one of the most beautiful spot looks on fanpop.
Banner credit goes to Bdavisbrookeme, the icon is from livejournal.
- Leyton: Now that's what I'm talking about. This club has one of the most gorgeous banners I've ever seen. And so do the fans think. This banner hasn't been changed in ages, but we keep the spot look fresh by changing the icon EVERY month. And EVERY month there's a new theme and EVERY month people can choose out of more than 50 i!cons and almost EVERY month somebody else's icon wins.
Now some spots where I made the icon, not the banner
- Dramione: banner credit goes to bdavisbrookme 
- Naley, Leyton & Brulian: banner credit goes to othobsessed92 
And some spots where I made the banner but not the icon
- Paul Wesley
- Alice Cullen
- Edward & Bella
- Edward Cullen: Now of the previous ones you might say that the coloring is not EXACTLY totally 100% the same (besides, perfection doesn't exist) , but this resemblance is just inevitable. I can't believe how the girl who made this icon managed to perfect the coloring of the banner. It's almost like I made it myself.
5) Can you give me some spots where they use that system? Because I've been on fanpop for nearly 3 years and to be honest I've never seen it. I've created & participated in forums for spot changes many times before and I haven't seen a single one where everyone isn't free to add anything they with the right measurements and the themes of course.
6) And why is this system easier again? You still have to make the icon pick.
So I don't see a why a few more options could hurt.
It works for other spots, so why not this one?

Now. I'm sure that the spot look for March/April will be beautiful!
But in the future, can't we just at least ask the other people what they think about this?      
 Besides, wouldn't it be more fun if more people actually start participating in this spot?
