If both past and present Eggmen are stuck in Purgatory, will Classic Sonic's future differ from what it is now?

I have always asked myself this pertanyaan after seeing the ending of Sonic Generations and has confused the crud outta me ever since.

I'm gonna go with the timeline Classic Sonic goes back to is pre-Generations atau they alternate timelines since 06 was mean to be erased from Sonic history yet Crisis City was in Generations.
