Seddie4Ever I completely agree with you, and the way Lana treats Clark is the reason why any other woman besides her would be a better match for him. I personally prefer Clark with Chloe, who has always been there for Clark. And I agree with you about Clark's love for Lois. It's hard to believe that she is the love of his life when Smallville constantly tries to tell his that his true love is Lana. Great Article! :D

Superkevy11 There is no doubt in my mind how much Clark loves Lois. And I totally agree with you that Lana is a bitch, but In season 8 when see comes back and they get back together I just think Clark was afraid to move on and that's why he didn't start anything with Lois.

101Katy It annoyed the hell outta me when Lana came back in season 8 yeah i know they left her story unfinished and blah, blah, blah but the way they handled it was just another stupid way to keep Lois & Clark apart and it kinda made me hate Clark, A LOT in season 8 the way he just dropped Lois the second pink princess came back! ugh its so infuriating! But that was season 8, season 9 & 10 were a completely different story especially in Rabid when Clark was looking at the picture of Lana then he closed the photo album with Lois coming in just as he did that that was the writers way of showing Clark was finally ready to move on... with Lois and if Pink princess came back in season 10 I don't think Clark would give her a second look with how incredibly in love with Lois he was then. AJE123 he may have loved her since he was 8 but i think as he got older he realised she wasn't the one and couldn't really deal with his powers and couldn't trust lex wouldn't find out from her which he did with one look from her thats how stupid she is. when he forgets lana you can tell he loves lois more than he ever loved lana because of the way he looks at her and has that smile on his face and he can trust her and that she is strong enough to deal with his powers

courtnie (this is going to be a really long post, so if you wanna read it I swear its very pro Clark and Lois, and it gives a lot of valid reason why I know Clark loved Lois, even more than Lana) I agree, I think it really annoying but I don't think you should doubt Clark's love for Lois and second guess it as much as you're doing because sure, he loved Lana forever and regardless of everything that happened he still loved her, and I have to admit, even being the biggest Clois fan, the Clana final goodbye was heart breaking.... but if you really think about it, in the last 2 season of Smallville, there was so much that Clark did/said and just his actions towards Lois that you could just tell he loves her, and you could tell he only has eyes for her, and he knew she was the one for him... The only reason I think he was so dead set on him and Lana for so long was because he loved her for so long it was like a runt. He constantly told himself, him and Lana belong together that he was fully convince and wasn't willing to listen to anyone let alone look at another girl. He couldn't even be a grown up for 5 minutes and think if she really was the one, or even the possibility that there could be anyone else out there that he could love as much, or even more. he was so wrapped up in her he never really looked at Lois that way until he was finally able to let Lana go, which wasn't until the eighth season. I think he was always attracted to Lois and liked her, but he never realized it because he wasn't willing to even consider Lois as someone he could love because at that point he wasn't considering anyone but Lana because he was so obsessed with the idea that him and Lana belonged together. I mean we all know that his eye's never really left Lana for any other girl from season 1-8, the only person I can really think of, is Lois, like in 6x13 when Lois was possessed with the love thing and she loved Clark, you could see he was kind of into even before he was dosed with red krytonite. And then he was like wow what am I doing.. or when he was posing as the green arrow and kissed Lois and after he took off Ollies mask his breath was taken away and he was smiling, or or course in the eighth season when he was dancing with her and the almost kiss. These were all moments he and Lois had before he got over Lana completely and I can't think of anyone who had these kind of moments with Clark other than Lois because at the end of the day the only person that could get his mind off Lana was Lois because Lois was his one true love, he was just unwilling to see it, and he denied every moment they had every time because of this fact hence the reason in season 8 when he was about to kiss Lois and then dropped her when Lana came back. But I also think that might have something to do with the fact he never got closure with her, and once he did and she left for good he was able to get over her and fall completely head over heels in love with Lois, and at that point if Lana would have returned for the series finale, Clark wouldn't have even given her a second look, she would probably be just another addition to the Clark Lois wedding, its not like Lana would show up and he would forget about Lois and love Lana again, because it was truly over between them, and he wasn't in love with Lana any more. In a lot of ways I think that's the point of the story and the reason why they built up the Clark/Lana relationship so much.. you wondering why they did, well I think that's why. Lana and Clark's relationship was like a symbol of Smallville, Clark Kent before superman, and Lois and Clark's relationship is a symbol of Superman, which is the point of the series right? Clark Kent becoming superman. It's like once he got over Lana he was able to become Superman, with the help of Lois of course. They spend so long building their relationship because they were the main couple of the show, this is Smallville before Superman, so yea I guess technically the main love story of this particular show is Lana and Clark's but we all know the end game, and the true love story. *Side note* I really don't understand though when people say "Lana and Clark should have ended up together because Smallville is about their love story" and I guess it is but I don't know why anyone would want them to actually end up together because we all know they don't. Won't the Clana fans want to know why they don't end up happy? why Clark ends up falling in love with Lois, and chooses Lois? wouldn't they want closure? because we all know who Clark Kent ends up with in the end and he who he truly love so having him end up with Lana at the end of Smallville would be a little redundant, but whatever, not the point. My point is, it's all about timing Lois told him once, you will be able to look at you're soul mate and know that she is you're soul mate and a lot of people, mostly Clana fans took it, well the first time he looked at Lois, he didn't know, but he did when he looked at Lana therefore Lana must be his true soul mate... but however I took it as a big deal that he was saying Lana possibility wasn't his soul mate by implying he hadn't even met her yet which is a huge step for Clark, because like I said for so long he was so set on believing him and Lana belong together, it was sort of cool to see Clark take that first step of looking out into the world and saying hey, there are some many people out there and anyone could be my soul mate, like he's finally taking his eye's off Lana for 2 seconds and growing up (after 8 years..) but who knows maybe he's saying that because at that point deep down he knew she's not his soul mate.. however, getting back to Lois and Clark, I don't think she meant, you literally look at someone and you know, I think she meant, there will be a moment in time where you are with someone and you will look at them and realize they are you're soul mate, and I think that moment happened in 9x02 when he returned to the daily planet.. he said that when he saw her again and he saw how happy she was that he was back and the sparkle in her eye's he knew that she was the one he always needed, and that seems like a moment were he looked at her and he knew, and realized he was in love with this girl and she was his soul mate, it sounds like the moment Lois was describing to me. I do understand why you think Clark might love Lana more though, because he was so much more vocal about wanting to be with Lana, but I only think that was, was because Clark was always fighting for Lana, and so uncomfortable, feeling like he had to constantly watch and make sure she didn't slip through his fingers, and constantly reassure her that he wanted to be with her especially when he always would blow her off because he was hiding his secret. Where with Lois he was sure, he loved her, and she loved him, and he didn't need to constantly be on edge about it like he was with Lana. Maybe I would doubt his love for Lois, but when I see Clark completely cut everyone out of his life because he can't find Lois in the finale of season 8 and they when she comes back in season 9 he wants to just talk to her and then he finally comes back because he realizes he can't be without her. Or when in 9x09 when you see a year into the future, Clark hadn't seen Lois in a year and he tells her, "Lois, I died when you left" that never happened with Lana, sure he was heart broken but he was able to push on where as with Lois he literally couldn't, like there was not point of being Clark Kent without Lois Lane. Or of course the engagement, or when he tells her his secret, or when in 9x14, even though lois is under a spell and he knows its not her, he desperately is trying to make her stay, and tells her they will be together always an forever. or when he tells her in 10x10 that he can't live in a world where Lois doesn't love him, or when he says, "you got up from you're seat, flew you're arms around me and the way you're eye's sparkled when you smiled, I just knew, you were the one I always need" or when he tells her she's the one, or of course when he, for the first time, kind of starts floating, and he's controlling it on his own because he's completely content with Lois in his arms. I mean all these things are things he never did or said to Lana and it makes me truly believe without a doubt they were meant for each other, and without a doubt that not only was Clark in love Lois, but he loved her more than Lana and he would chose Lois over Lana in a heart beat. I honestly I could go on forever on why I think Clark loves Lois more and even why I think Lois is a way better match for Clark and why Lana isn't and is ultimately really bad for Clark but that's not the question you asked so I'll leave you with this. She is his one true love, she always will be. In the show Smallville, in the comics, from 30's to now, to all the Superman movies. There the legendary Clark Kent and Lois Lane, and ultimately this is their love story, and if people truly believe that its Clark's and Lana's love story and they belong together, or even that Clark and Lana can beat over 50 years of stories and retold stories of superman/Clark and Lois Lane they are seriously wrong, and they will never win.

So if Lois ends up being a rebound the creators meant for it to be that way from the beginning of SV. Also, I think Steven De Knight said that it was the intention of the show for Lana to be Clark's love interest from the beginning to the end of SV. So really Clark and Lois never really had a chance on SV. If KK's contract had not been finished then the scenes that we have in season 8 between Clark and Lois would never have taken place. This show would probably have ended with the marriage of Clark and Lana. Heck, if Lana does come back for the series finale, whenever that is, they probably will marry them to one another. And no one really even knew anything about "Lana" till smallville and non of the other "Lana" in other superman tv shows were given as much screen time as KK. This is Clark before SUPERMAN the love story was going to be Clark and Lana to a certain point and then when he matures and is ready to become serious with his destiny it will become Clark and Lois. Otherwise why would they have brought Lois into the show. Besides if Clark and Lana was meant to be endgame why did they never even let them end up together for atleast 5episodes of a season..they only stayed together for just like 3 episodes and then they are separated all over again with pain and problems. Even when Clark told Lana the truth in "reckoning" and Lois asked her "does it change the way you feel about him?" She said "maybe" and then Lois said "I don't know what you found out but I do know I'll be lucky to end up with someone as honorable as Clark someday" and that's what pushed lana to say yes to Clark. Lois is not a second choice because by the time Lana came back lois and Clark were still in the attraction stage of their relationship (realizing they could be more than friends) she wasn't an option yet,Lois wasn't even ready to be an option yet..she even told Oliver "I'm just having all these feelings and I DO NOT KNOW WHAT THEY MEAN",in 8x08 when Lois saw that she and Clark were getting closer she pulled away. And KK's contract has nothing to do with Clark and Lois becoming endgame because in VAMPIRE DIARIES Nina (Elena) didn't renew her contract and she left the show but they still kept Damon single and DELENA still got their endgame.If they wanted to have Clark and Lana as endgame all they had to do was keep him single and not able to move on then bring her back in the finale but instead it was when Lois left that Clark wasn't able to move on from "Lois, I died when you left" , "Clark Kent is dead" and as soon as Lois came back "Clark Kent came back for an encore" Even if KK stayed they would've done it in such a way that he'll realize that Lana isn't the one,which I think they actually established when he told Lois "YOUR THE ONE,YOU ALWAYS WILL BE" . In 9x03 they showed Clark letting go of Lana when he removed her photo and put it in the year book photo album. Lana was the obvious choice from 1-8. And star crossed lovers or not if two people are meant to end up together they will I mean If a sleeping curse couldn't keep Damon and Elena apart, and a sleeping spell couldn't keep Prince Charming and Snow White apart(one wakes up and the other falls asleep) ,if the underworld couldn't keep Captain Hook and Emma Swan apart how is the fact that Clark and Lana can't be 10 inches close to each other be a problem. LOVE is the strongest weapon on earth it has a solution to everything no matter how the odds are stacked against us. Plus this is a SUPERMAN story did you really think it would be Clark and Lana as endgame com'on even if this is not a comic it is common sense..they already showed that Clark and Lana were doomed from the kryptonite necklace she had in s1 Ep 1. When Clark was with Lana the only thing I heard about his feelings for her was "We were meant to be together" and him making most of his decisions based on the fear of loosing her. FEAR SHOULD NEVER DECIDE LOVE. In Clois, fear never decided love..he never made any hasty decision because he was scared of loosing her,they both took their time and made sure they were 100% sure they were ready to do this or take a next step. With Lois we heard "I just knew that you were THE ONE that I have always needed" Then we saw Clark turning his back on everyone and everything till Lois resurfaced. Then we heard "Lois I died when you left" Then we heard "Lois after you left, I couldn't be around Oliver or Chloe..they REMINDED ME OF YOU AND THAT HURT TOO MUCH..so I left." Then "I can't live in a world were you don't love me" Then "Lois you are HOME..and we will be together always and forever" Then "Lois,the only thing that has ever made me feel NORMAL is YOU. Then we saw Clark Kent going offline as soon as Lois dissapeared and then Clark Kent came online as soon as Lois resurfaced. Then we see him being able to resist magic because his love for Lois is stronger Then we see him floating in midair after telling Lois "I love you" Then we heard "YOU ARE THE ONE, YOU ALWAYS WILL BE" Then we see him flying because Lois says "I believe in You" Then he says "Lois you're my strength" Then he says "I feel stronger when you're around" Then he says "You're not in my way Lois,you're by my side" I think this should sum up the point that Lois is not a second choice. Lois was never an option or an obvious choice But she became the ONLY choice. With all these I don't doubt that he loves Lois And Clois/Clana fans y'all should know that with the way Clana was given closure the writers have put room for doubt in any relationship that could've come after clana be in Chlark or Clois etc. Besides only children think like that..when you binge watch the series over and over again it becomes clearer . KK leaving the show has nothing to do with Clois being endgame because NINA DOBREV from VAMPIRE DIARIES left the show as well but DELENA was still Endgame. Clois has been canon since 1930's, Clois is the only ship that is being retold and reinvented over and over again.

A lot of people have stopped hating her after growing up and re-watching the show with more maturity and understanding, but some just don't give up. Anyone that compares season 4 Chloe knowing the secret to Lana in season 5 is being unfair. Lana only asked 2x in season 3 telling him she'll love him no matter what and he changes the subject. She didn't ask again for a whole season! Chloe season 1-3 all she did was pine and try to find out. Even with Lionel Luthor. And she keeps secrets from him in season 4, but tell Jason and Lex- sure. Her and Clark are on outs, so she tells him when she realizes Jason and Lex are using her for the stones. Anyway a ton of people excuse Lex for stalking and holding Clark hostage- which is wild! Yes, they saw him use his powers and a lot of people told Lana (Tara, Van, Adam, Alicia, Lex) and Lex (Nixon, Perry, Lionel) things about Clark to make them suspicious, but Clark kept pretending that they were imagining things. Telling them that they wouldn't understand the real-him when they ask directly. They also tell Clark they're willing to be his friend no matter what. Even after seeing him on red-K or when he ran away for a summer. He later started to use deflection to manipulate them into thinking they were the problem in the relationship (She doesn't understand him on Red-K {she doesn't know about Red-K}Lana moving to college/Lex not telling Clark about his one-night stand list and Nixon) and it caused big breaks in their friendships. But people ignore all of the experiences these characters have to hate them.
