@georgiapeach91 I was the complete opposite. For some reason I just thought they were taking the Skins 'concept' and making into a US show. This trailer just looks weird!
The shooting style of it looks very British and so does the location, some how.... I just don't think that the exact same script is going to work very well for a US audience... but then again I may be totally wrong.

The acting isn't terrible, honestly if it was brand new material and i hadn't seen the original I would probably be excited for this but everything they showed was either word for word or action for action of the original, it was just weird.
and that trampoline seemed completely out of place..
so basically I think the actors and setting are fine but they need to do new material and storylines.. It's a good replica of the storylines but that's not what people want

I've only been watching Skins for like.. 5 months or something like that, but it's already surpassed a handful of shows because it's so amazing. Each time I re-watch every single episode I love it more and more. It's so original and fucking AMAZING, I just love it. I DON'T EVEN KNOW WHERE TO START. THIS TRAILER LITERALLY MAKES ME EMBARRASSED TO BE AN AMERICAN AND I AM NOT KIDDING. I'm getting really angry right now uggg. Not only is this an almost EXACT ripoff of 1x01, but it's about a THOUSAND times worse. The acting, the replaced dialogue, dear god it's AWFUL. TERRIBLE. IN EVERY WAY. Every single SECOND of this I disliked, and not because It's even already been done, but it looks so terrible that even if I hadn't SEEN the first Skins I wouldn't want to see it. Back on point though, my real and honest problem and anger with this stupid remake is that it's COMPLETELY AND TOTALLY UNNECESSARY AND RIDICULOUS. IT'S NOT LIKE SKINS WAS MADE IN THE FRICKIN 80'S OR SOMETHING. THE FIRST SEASON IS A FEW YEARS OLD. IT'S STILL ON THE AIR. I saw QAF what is my other favourite show. I also like the UK and the US versions, because they were different. The main story line was the same, but not copied word for word. I thought that US version will be different, filled with true American teenagers' problem. It would be interesting, but this one is awful. I am so sorry for that.

When I first heard they're doing a remake I was so strongly hating the idea of it, but now that I saw the trailer, I caught myself being overwhelmed as fuck.
I know the trailer showed the exact same scenes/quotes/pace as in the original pilot, but remember that only the first 3 eps are gonna be the same, then the storylines will go in another direction. And yes, I'm still gonna watch it and if it's shit when it finally picks up on its own, I'm gonna give up on it.
Also, it can't be a complete copy since the writer of US Skins is the same one that wrote UK Skins. LOL. So you can't copy yourself, now can you?

It's like a pale imitation of the original. There's too much conflict between the British script and style and trying to appeal to US audiences. I actually cringed.

See, I don't think the casting and their acting is horrible. When I saw the very first pic of them months ago I was dissing this shit big time, but IMHO, these kids actually aren't that bad judging by the promo. The only problem I have with the casting is Cassie, and to be honest the trampoline scene did seem off to me, as in trying too hard to achieve the greatness of the original one. That's what I REALLY don't like so far from what I've seen - the Cassie remake, aka Cadie. The others seem pretty decent to me and I can't wait to see them in the actual episodes. Also, I'm really digging this chick that's playing Michelle, contrary to me not liking ~original!Michelle at all.
OH and I actually like/am looking forward to that girl Tea, that's replacing Maxxie. And this is coming from a big Maxxie fan.
