how i wish i could answer with an unreserved, emphatic "YES!". but, i would go with what my gut, atau maybe just my wishful thinking says: "yes, it could have been a definite possibility."
they were the closest friends. best friends. that in itself is a powerful form of love. i'd happily make the assertion that the line between platonic and romantic cinta does have a tendency to make itself blurred. case in point: severus. but the pertanyaan remains if the same can be berkata of lily. the romantic in me screams that she must have had at some point, only she must not have been made aware of it till it was too late (she's already married james and had harry). the cynic in me however argues that she must have loved him, but not enough to choose him over everything else (james, shady associates, biases, the hostile slytherin-gryffindor dynamic, etc)
with that last bit being said, a quote oleh John Powell: "The only cinta worthy of a name is unconditional."
Lily may not have loved Severus in the way we would have liked her to, but that only makes Snape's so much lebih beautiful.
I think in her own way Lilly did cinta him but i think in alot of ways for Lilly's side it was platonic while for snape he defiantly wanted something more...
i think also: anda have to think: why did lilly hang onto snape's friendship during their first 5 years of school with all the slytherin-gryffindor bashing? what did lilly see in snape? did she see a glimmer of goodness that we saw in book 7?
How much I wish I could agree, but I'm not sure! The only thing I'm aware of is that Lily felt somehow protective about Severus, and then, he was the first wizard she met, the first to tell her about the wizards' world ... of course she considered him to be a SPECIAL friend, and loved him...in a way. But how many times a stupid prejudice was to spoil a relationship, even greater love. So, if there was a feeling it wasn't strong enough to survive, to go through all the differences ( friends, opinions, interests...)and to last for a lifetime...
She loved him as a friend, and in my opinion, the difference between friendship cinta and romantic cinta isn't as big as some people seem to think it is. I also think she started to cinta him romantically when she was old enough, but didn't realise it - at least not until they broke up. So yes, I think she did cinta him, too.
However, the nature of these feelings diverged over time. I always think that Lily *liked* him when Severus *loved* her.
I even wonder if Severus loved her really. I tend to think this was rather sublimation as time went by. lebih something akin to devotion on his part. Throw in his strong sense of duty and his usual guilt, and anda have probably what he felt.
Though we'll never know, with such an Occlumens...
Unconditionality is the key word indeed. Severus loved her beyond time and death. While she did not, as she was not even able to try to "save" him from his clumsy attempt to impress her, i.e. the Dark Arts and the like.
I really don't think so. As I berkata on the pick in the Severus Snape spot:
Lily was completely against Severus' friends, but she didn't seem to try very hard to get him away from them. I know they fought, but all she really berkata was, "I don't like them. I think their sense of humor is evil!" If it was me, I would have fought tooth and nail - done everything in my power - to get the one I loved away from people who were absolutely nasty and would turn him into a Death Eater.
She had the perfect opportunity, when Severus was on his knees, begging him to forgive him, to get him away from them (ultimatum, anyone? It's actually a concept I'm exploring in my new(est) fanfic) but she didn't. She threw it - and him - away.

I completely agree with you. Lily fought with Severus, but she did not fight for him, trying to get him away from his evil friends. She did not fight enough because she did not like him enough. She berkata she made excuses for him but at the same time, she stated that her own friends did not understand why she was hanging out with Severus. When anda really cinta someone, anda take the stand for them, not forge only excuses. As for the ultimatum (a really good idea), she did not even consider it. Of course, she was a Gryffindor - ultimatums are Slytherin means, I suppose. Drop a line on my dinding to give me the link to your fanfic dealing with that issue. I'd like to read it.
Exactly. It seemed like she cared lebih about what others thought than she did him. He was her "best friend" and she could have - should have - done lebih to turn him away from the wrong path he was on. I'm editing chapter one now. As soon as it's done (and diposting somewhere) I'll let anda know :)
I think Lily only loved him as a friend. If he hadn't continued in the Dark Arts, I feel there COULD have been a chance, but no, the cinta was very one sided (in the romantic sense)
