Ûm, no it is not. It is just as rude. The only difference is, that it is prettier to be 'skinny' than really fat, and therefore, people don't feel bad about saying someone is skinny. But it is a decease as well as being fat. Only that skinny people has some self control.

I think either way you're telling someone there's something wrong with you.

In the media, they're always saying that people are too skinny and it's not okay. I always here people saying that guys don't like skinny girls. They say being skinny is unhealthy.

I am very thin and people think I do it on purpose. I eat healthy, average pertions. They think I'm doing it to be "beautiful" but really, that's just me.

People are always going around telling larger girls to be proud of their curves, but they don't tell the thin ones to be happy with their lack of curves. Those girls are told that they need to eat more.

It's not as acceptable to walk up to a larger person and say "You should eat less." Why is it okay to walk up to a skinny one and advise them to eat more?

But the deal it's that every one wants to be skinny.
I'm a skinny girl, but that's who I am, i mean I'm tall (5'11) And my body it's that type.
And it's offencive when someone calls me anorexic, when I'm not. That's my body and I can't change it!

It depends. In our society, being skinny is seen as a good thing, but usually, if we point it out to someone, we're saying they're too skinny. And being too skinny is bad.

That is true. But when you are skinny and proud, people don't congratulate you. the criticize you for giving in to the media's standards.When you're larger and proud, people congratulate you for being confident. If you're considered "too skinny" and proud, then you're labeled a bad influence.

It depends. For me, being called "skinny" or "slim" would be taken as a compliment. But being called "bony" or "anorexic" would be more of an insult.

For some people "skinny" is a compliment, so then it's not rude.

When your friend says they are so fat in a degrading way I would call that person skinny to encourage them.

If you get called skinny, the person saying it could mean it as either a compliment or an insult. But if you get called fat you know it's an insult.

in my mind fat is not an insult because i like the larger person... but if a person is so fat or thin that they are feeling negative health benifits then they dont need peaple calling them names just for the sake of it it really is unneccacary .
