Okay...but are you actually serious about teaching little kids about condoms? (I get kids who are teenagers...) I mean, condoms DON'T work 100% of the time, and they don't protect you from things such as STDs or STVs. Why let a kid get pregnant or have an STD/STV because their parents taught them that having sex with a condom would be "safe"?

Maybe it's because I've been raised by parents that think it's completely normal to talk about sex. And I think condoms would be a good way to start, by telling children what it's for. When they're older, the parents can talk about some other options.

Yes, but Monrose, you never answered my comment, what about the instances of when condoms don't work, and the fact that they don't protect you from STD's? I agree with some of the things you are saying, but I just have some questions.
Plus, you said that when they're older, the parents can talk about some other options, but since condoms aren't that safe, what if some kids just use it and have what I mentioned before? Don't you think that the parents should tell the kids almost everything, the goods things AND the bad things? And just tell them how the safest way to prevent stuff would be just to do abstinence? Not saying that everyone should abstain till marriage or anything, people DO have their own rights, but that's pretty much the safest way, so that's why I'm bringing it up.

Well, if you think like that, you can't have sex with anyone without being sure they're "okay". And condoms are pretty safe, but when I was talking about other options, I was talking about pregnancy. I agree, the parents should tell their children almost everything about sex, but the details can wait until they've become a little older. Marriage is a safe way (if both are tested), but there are still a lot of people that choose not to marry someone. So I don't think that the parents should use that as an option for their children. I don't want them to be pressured or anything.

yes, i do. everywhere you look there is something about sex. its just disgusting already. children so young should not have to be exposed to that. but you can't even hide it from them. its everywhere now. im going to wait till im married to do anything. id like to get a purity ring soon.
